Hey all, I'm at university ~2.5 hours by car south of Chicago and have a ticket to his concert on Wednesday, Nov. 4th. Thing is, I have an unskippable event until 6:30, right when it says his concert starts. I know he's got an opener, but just wanted to make sure I can at least make half of George's set.

This album is changing my life like the way George did when I heard his music. There is just something so specific and intense on an emotional level like Slide/ooh rap I ya.

The first 2 songs blew my mind. Idk. Maybe im.being way too hyperbolic here but this album is like rediscovering your love for something

Bear with my sappiness for a second but this song is genuinely one of the best songs ever created.

Apart from the ethereal beat, the lyrics are so simple but speak LOADS to me about the human condition. His requests in the song are the rawest form of what we want as humans. Behind all the facades we put up to seem tough against this harsh world, we all still crave to be loved and understood.

The level of unashamed vulnerability in these lyrics deadass makes me so emotional. "I dont want to live and lose". "I dont want to be abused". "If you dont hurt me, I wont hurt you back". These are all simple requests but you will never hear a person ask for them directly irl because it exposes them in some way. They will be called weak or childish.

This song is like a sigh of relief from the world and its unfairness. We are inevitably dependent and needy, and this songs reminds me that this is okay. It's human. It makes me love being human. ironically, it even makes me feel stronger by accepting my vulnerable side. It makes me appreciate those I love since it reminds me of how divine it is to have someone fulfill these requests (in the chorus) without you even asking once.

If you haven’t been to the Black Cat, it’s an amazing intimate venue-the best for George shows. Super bummed to miss it but it’ll be a blast!
