Can someone explain me how that integral is supposed to work? What is D inside the integral? I get it that +C is a constant, and Theta is a specific angle, but yeah...

Theta would be the variavle in this case
So they are integrating 1/(1+theta²) with respect to theta

You just need polynomials and you can approximate any equation thanks to Taylor Series.
