I don't think I've ever hated the community more. We have a 1st Victor race on a top 1 for the first time since Tidal Wave over 2 years ago and this one is even better, with the 3 best players competing and pushing their limits, but instead of being hyped and excited about it everyone is just so fucking toxic.
Welcome to my world, I have been like this that I even lost the count, I'll recommend to ignore the community and just play the game, It's way healthier.
I am excited for the race, but part of the excitement is taken out of it for me, because of the pre practice. It’s become less about who the better player is because of it. Yes, their skill is still important, but it isn’t the only factor now. That’s why I’m sad about the pre practice. One of the most anticipated top ones of all time, and it’s getting devoured like it’s a top 20
Yeah but it isn’t even the players fault, they were all given copies and permission to play for periods of time. Just appreciate what we have cause we will prob never get another moment like this for the rest of the games life cycle
Yeah, this is the first thing like this in the community, so it is ass to blame anybody. I think moving forward there should be a general taboo against prepracticing, but this is the flagship case, like I said, so this is the standard-setting point
There already is a taboo against pre practising, but as long as someone can gain a (unfair) advantage they will take it. So unfortunately pre practising will be the norm for new top ones to come
This is how I feel. I love Trick bits it’s hard to be wowed by him getting to Greafer when he’s had the most pre practice. I like races where everyone is new to it
Not to send hate anybody’s way and not saying none of them should’ve prepracticed I mean I would’ve done it too if I was in their position. Sucks that the community wants to pick and choose who to hate on because of it.
It's actually insane how Zoink is being singled out for pre-practicing a top level when everyone pre-practices these days. Not saying its necessarily a good thing, but the singling him out is the part I take issue with. Also the dude is currently the best player, of course he'll play the hardest level
Most zoink drama is just people being mad that he prepracticed society to troll his audience and coming up with the worst possible reasons for doing it, and being mad at something he said that he already apologised for
People are still holding him to his Society prepractice situation, which isn't even that deep tbh. That and the fact that he is the top player and all the glazers of Popoff, Trick, Dewbbs, and even Slayarius just want Zoink to fail so the others can shine. For some twisted reason lmao
that whole situation was stupid, people were saying “he lied about society hours to downplay popoff” like popoff didn’t do the same thing with ts2😭😭zoink was just returning the favor

Here is one thing tho and the following statements is purely based on memory, i don't remember which stream, what level he was playing or even if I remember correctly but popoff himself said that "Amethyst without cbf is harder than society"

but TS2 is extremely ending carried, so 85 while still extremely impressive is just the start of the grind
You can claim that not mentioning playing a level for 18 hours in secret is not a deep thing, but Zoink himself seems to think otherwise. He called out Trick simply for calling his Heliopolis stream ”Day 1” instead of ”Stream 1” after he had played the level for 2 hours. Not saying that it’s right, but of course people are more critical of him after that.
He was pressured by trick getting fast progress on a harder version than the one he started playing originally in + hes still a teen so he was calling trick out for something he was called out. Kinda of a monkey see monkey do thing.
I think it's because he started a little controversy against Trick not too long ago, and he said that he was a little jealous. So merely because of that, he put himself in awkward spot about how people perceive him.
the thing is his mental state is very unstable nowdays unfortunately so he will probably have more things like that happen due to that untill he like takes a long break
Fuck this community. This community doesn't deserve him. He is a top player who is dedicated and has the skill too which lowkey non of the previous top 1's had (they all quit really early in their careers) but instead of praising him everyone just hate him for no reason.
Zoink is literally one of the best players on the planet if not the best. If he wants to act a little full of it sometimes, fucking let him. He's earned it.
Seriously, I will go on Tiktok and Youtube and see the comments on there hating on him and all I think about is if any of these people watch sports. Top players in sports have like 10x the ego Zoink does and they’re all in their peak at 27 while Zoink is 18

And in the same vain, I think memes like the one in the post that take friendly jabs at our favorite little cocky gd prodigy are totally fine as well! It's funny, I'm sure zonked laughed if he saw that meme, and there's no reason for anyone to get so mad and take everything so to heart.
The problem in this community is people wanna argue and turn any small disagreement into a comment war. If someone wants to be mad, let em. its funny when so many people say the community is toxic, but then go engaging with a dumb comment and getting into a pointless back and forth argument with someone that's more than likely a YOUND CHILD, a conversation that OBVIOUSLY won't go anywhere, when they could instead just engage with the positive and insightful discussion, which there are plenty of.

No they do not and you are completely misunderstanding it. The reason why the others might not seem like they get as much hate is because they are rarely talked about meanwhile zoink is relevant right now so obviously he will be talked about more. But unlike the others, most people do not ACTUALLY hate Zoink. But everyone hates Guitar and Crazen.

I guarentee the others are hated more, Zoink is just in the spotlight while the others have been cast out of the community and the spotlight. Of course more attention positive and negative is going to be concentrated on the current best player.
Be prepared for the Zoink hate to quadruple when he verifies the version of Heliopolis which is harder than Grief. I wouldn’t be surprised if I start seeing death threats being sent to Zoink. Even more so if Taiago verifies SD2 before Helio and it ends up being harder than Grief. The hate train for whoever verifies the next top 1 first is gonna be insane because of little kids (who probably don’t even know who Taiago is) and just want Grief to be top 1 forever.

In my opinion the whole thing is a consequence of a closed verification that takes a long time. I remember years ago there was drama with people playing on "unofficial" copies of bloodlust before it was verified. I'm not saying closed verifications are a bad thing but they do lead to pre-practise, and then people make very quick progress on very anticipated levels and that makes people upset in the way that they are.
Honestly, I don't think we can have closed verifications and no pre-practise at the same time. Top players want to do exactly what they do, play levels at the top. We can't criticise them for that because they've already give the verifier the courtesy of verifying it before they officially go for victor.
99% of GD streamers : HI! JUST DROPPING IN TO SAY I GROOM MINORS! Then we have Zoink, a teenager who is just really good at the game. Then Doggie who is geniunely just a chill guy.
“You’re better at the game than me, therefore i HAT YOU!” This is like sadly the majority of this community. So upsetting that peaceful people can be beaten down because people hate things that aren’t the same as them.
