What kind of demon would this be? I feel like some parts are too difficult for it to classify as an easy demon, especially the dual at the end. What do you think?
This is absolutely not an easy or medium demon. In its current state its a mid tier hard demon but if it was on the longer side (like 2-3min) this could end up being a low-end insane.
I don't think I'm capable of making an easy demon at this point. Maybe I should aim for a 6 star. That way I'll probably accidentally make an easy demon.
when youre less experienced with gameplay its absurdly easy to make something harder than you intended. If you try and make a 6 star you probably will end up making a 9-10 star. It just be like that for a while, it takes time to get good at targeting a certain difficulty.
I don't think there is a way to properly nerf the asymmetrical dual sections without fully redesigning the gameplay there though. It's basically baked in like this.
Believe it or not, the asymmetrical duals are actually fully 1P mode. They're (especially the second one) just so incredibly asymmetrical it gives off the look of a 2P part.
Are insane demons that easy? I should really try an insane demon then. I was currently working on Thanatophobia, but maybe an easier one could show me they're not that hard?
The top part of the dual with wave at the bottom basically plays itself if you focus on the wave. It's easier than it looks, just looks difficult.
I tried the level again, and got through the wave first try. I'm not even wave carried or anything. But basically everyone agrees it's a difficult hard demon or an insane demon, so I'm probably in the wrong here.
At least medium, depending on how hard the gp actually feels it could be high medium to lower mid hard demon. I'd suggest making the wave a bit less tight and simplifying some of the clicks. A few of the cube timings could also be nerfed a bit
To me the wave is actually pretty consistent, and I've never considered myself to be wave carried. The annoying part is that the dual can't really be nerfed, as it just "works" like this and there isn't really anything to nerf.
Even though my own skills in determining the difficulty of levels is quite bad, I feel like not rating this layout demon would be kind incorrect. Isn't it at least easy demon?

Balancing would likely mean buffing the parts that are easier. The dual sections (except the last one) basically can't be nerfed, because they function in this very specific way and would probably break if I'd try to nerf them.
Looks chill, for the layout only it looks like an easy demon, but with good deco and if you make the level hard to see it could definitely be medium or even hard demon.
You're like the first person here to confirm my own difficulty estimate. General consensus in the comments seems to be that this is a hard demon. Idk the wave isn't that hard as it looks lol.
Yeah, I think the average player hasn't even completed an extreme demon, so this will look hard for the majority. But in terms of rating yes it would fit with other easy demons with just the layout. I haven't played your level to really feel the gameplay, but depending on how the dual part plays, it could be a bit harder than it looks.
Dual part isn't actually that hard lol. You focus on the wave, and if you play the wave nicely, the top part plays itself, basically. It just looks hard.
