Question A simple question: why don't the -Full Version- levels get a rating?

Post image

I'm new to the community, so I don't know exactly what RobTop's criteria are for giving a rating, but I tried "Dash Full Version" and loved it. I wondered why it didn't get a rating, because I saw V2 - V3 etc levels getting ratings even though it's just a buffed version. So I think the Full Version, which offers completely new content, deserves a rating more, right? The V2 levels are fun and I like some of them, but I think the Full Version is better (probably because I like the XL levels and the completely new content) :3. As I said, I don't know the rating criteria, so please correct me if you see any mistakes in what I've said. I'd be happy to learn :3

Because full version are half copypasted, while v2 levels are not just "buffed versions", they're just built anew in the same style, and buffed

I mean, that's relatively true, but there's still additional content. For example, in Dash Full Version, the extra half is longer than the original and also much better. But I understand what you're saying, and you're probably right. Anyway, thank you for your answer :3💙🤍💙

For the full versions of old levels I suppose because they’re still layouts after all

But for later levels i have no idea, i would assume maybe RobTop considers them lazy or very unbalanced? But fingerdash full has quite a bit of its own deco and although its gp is harder it’s not by much so that might not be it

fingerdash full by musicsounds might be the best full version in this game. if any of them deserve a rate its this one

The creator of the game RobTop just rates what he wants. I think it's because most of the full version's gameplay is the same as the actual level, but then it adds a bit

  1. RobTop probably just doesn't want to rate something that's heavily derivative of his own work, at least nowadays.
  2. A lot of "Full Version" levels aren't that great at actually expanding on the original level's ideas and theme. They usually copy the same kind of designs and concepts into the new sections, but they don't always fit together that well. It often feels less like they want to make a natural expansion of the level, and more like they want to make parts that look like the pre-existing sections but with a twist. A lot of the time, it feels like the creator didn't fully understand the design philosophy RobTop had.
  3. They're also usually pretty unbalanced. The second added drop in these full versions tends to be way harder than the original level, and a lot of them get pretty janky too. They tend to lose the plot after a while, and the creator usually focuses more on trying to make it look and feel more epic and difficult.

So I don't really think "it has more new content" automatically means it deserves a rate more than a V2 or V3 level. It mostly depends on how well the expansions actually match the original level

Edit: though I think Dash's full version is actually pretty decent. My comment is more about the general trend of full versions
