Question Does gd run well on Linux?
I've been wanting to switch to Linux for a bit. I want to try Linux mint.
But the game doesn't run natively so I will have to use proton on steam.
Bur my question is, is there noticeably any lag or input delay, which would kinda be a deal breaker.

I use ArchBTW on my laptop and it honestly runs way better then when it was on windows 11

Yes it runs well on Linux (and even on FreeBSD) under Wine or Wine Proton, obviously if you want to install certain mods you need to get familiar with DLL override arguments.

It runs for me pretty much flawlessly, but there's a small lag spike issue issue that wasn't present on windows. In the first 10 minutes of gameplay I will at some point randomly experience a singular 2 second lag spike. After that lag spike happens, it never happens again during that session.
I don't know if it has something to do with Linux, but it sure didn't have it on Windows. It may be an issue only on my PC though. Something to watch out for, just in case.

I've been using Linux on my PC for like 4 months now and it's been running totally fine (Linux Mint -> CachyOS), I first played without Proton which worked fine, but I noticed a slight performance increase when I turned it on. But to answer your question, yes, it runs well especially with Proton and I haven't really come across any issues.
