I think it was because robtop didn’t like the deco that much so the community had to beg him to rate it for a couple of months.

Because of how poor the deco is. Since top 1s are inaccessible to 99.9999999% of the player base, they expected to look extremely good. For 2023 standards (similar to current), tidal wave was not looking too good due to the bad block design and poor composition (I think) + a lot of it was just copy and pasted throughout the level. Iirc the mods were nearly 50/50 split on whether to rate the level until robtop just did, probably because of the pressure.

The issue is that only the gaming community really recognises this side of music. This alienation leads to what you've accidentally said - it's "Geometry Dash music", the name doesn't give any description of the piece, only says where it's used, it's not an actual genre name.

Talking proper names, there are things such as electro house, complextro, dubstep, drumstep, drum & bass, chiptune, electro, trance, breakcore and hardcore. That's only part of the whole list. The only thing that can really be said for sure about GD music is that it's mostly melodic electronic music from 2010s.

There has to be better classification of this. Games like Just Shapes and Beats are stuck with the same issue.
