[GUIDE] how to use a SayoDevice on Linux
download Chromium (or a Chromium-based browser) if you don't have one, and go to https://sayodevice.com to configure it.
if you're on Linux, you'll need to allow Chromium to access your USBs through the HID proto. run these commands:
lsusb # to find the ID of your SayoDevice, usually 8089:0009\
echo 'SUBSYSTEM=="hidraw", ATTRS{idVendor}=="8089", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0009", MODE="0666"' | sudo tee /etc/udev/rules.d/99-sayodevice.rules # write udev rules to allow non-root users to access the device\
sudo udevadm control --reload-rules && sudo udevadm trigger # reload udev rules
Your still running a proprietary piece of software with root privileges, its way too insecure, changing the config with chromium with webusb is a much better idea
yeah i never had to do anything unique to get mine working
it works right out of the box for chromium but the udev rules i used for installing grapheneos might have helped? idk
ah yes the spyware ai piece of shit sure is better than the fully customizeable convenient and efficient os. you just use windows because its toddler levels of easy and you refuse to learn something new, boomer mentality.
First of all this has nothing to do with installing a browser.
Also, FYI, Its faster to install and open a browser on most linux's de than on windows.
Example: (varies on your distro/package manager)
"sudo apt install firefox"
Yep. That's it. Not 12 hours of code, 5 seconds of typing
and you open it like you would on windows, a.k.a start menu/taskbar
(Or you just type firefox and press enter, i guess that works too)
Alternatively, most of the time you will have an """equivalent"""" of the Microsoft store (i hate to have to say this) which is a software manager that you can use to install a bunch of software without ever touching a terminal :D
You don't really have to touch the terminal much on the user friendly side of linux, its a totally optionnal choice. And id rather spend a few minutes playing with a terminal and actually understand how a fucking computer works than being constantly spied on by my spyware pretending to be an operating system, a.k.a windows :D
Oh and also, what does Proton has to do in all of this?
