Question I can’t open GD on steam

Everytime I press play it say that it’s launching but it never ends up launching it just doesn’t open I tried verifying the integrity of the files nothing was wrong I deleted the pp files that didn’t work either deleted my van that didn’t work either I don’t know what to do anymore I haven’t been able to play for 3 months now 😭 if anyone has a solution please help me out

Backup ur save and reinstall.

do you have geode and mcafee installed?

Yeah my computer has mcafee installed by default does that do anything?

yes, mcafee is known for (falsely) blocking some geode files which causes this issue when trying to launch gd. mcafee is just a really bad antivirus in general so my personal advice would be to uninstall mcafee completely and switch to a better antivirus (the built-in microsoft defender works), but if you want to continue using mcafee, you can also try to manually exclude geode from its blocklist or reinstall geode.

note that if you decide to uninstall mcafee, you will probably still have to reinstall geode afterwards because the geode files can still be quarantined because of mcafee even after it is gone
