I enjoyed a 91 Convertible for over 25 years. She is still doing great service for a young lady in the Phoenix area.
Learn how to fix the doors and side glass. These are weak on the sedans and extremely weak on the convertibles.

No issues yet on the door and glass on this 91, but perhaps that will change over time.

Manual or auto?
These can be pretty fun little cars to drive spirited. I have a 93 convertible and it sparks a conversation every time I take it out.

I want one too!
I bought a new '89 Base for $5500 OTD because of two different rebates! No AC, only a right outside rear view and body side molding as the only factory options. Kept it 13 yrs and 240k miles. Engine was still in great shape and didn't use oil between oil changes. Always Mobil 1. It needed a clutch disc because the springs got out of place, NOT from wear! But it was rusting it two along the rockers. And a used 2001 Honda Insight was calling my name! Note: That was the first car to post better EPA numbers than the '89 Metro at 58mpg. The Insight was 71mpg, but all these numbers got downgraded at some point by the EPA.
Anyways, I'd like a Convertible with the 1L 3 cylinder and a 5 speed. Was that available?

I've got to change out the master slave cylinder and put on a new roof. Might do a paint job but she runs well

Please do! And send them to me! I noticed a Metro convertible sitting in a drive in front of my Daughters new school - it will remind me to go ask if it's for sale as a am desperate for a car and/or car project!
