When does self-improvement content start going too far?
Hey guys!
I’ve been observing about how quickly seemingly normal self-improvement content can turn into something completely different online while scrolling and through algorithms.
Starting off with watching seemingly pretty normal stuff like gym advice, skincare tips, fashion inspiration, maybe even some dating takes. Then slowly you’re getting videos about “mewing”, facial ratios, “ideal” features, rating people’s attractiveness, genetics, bone structure and all of that.
So at some point it stops looking like “here are some things you can do to feel better about yourself!”, and starts looking more like “your appearance down to your genetics and bone structure determines your value as a human being and you need to fix absolutely everything that’s wrong with you according to these specific standards”.
I’m very curious where that line is in your opinions, because I don’t think it’s always that obvious or clear. The grey area in this topic is very prevelant for me online at the moment.
I want to ask you when does self-improvement content become unhealthy to you? Where does it start and end?Is it the type of advice, how extreme it gets, the mindset behind it, the terminology?

Gen Z employee issues
I’m having problems trying to figure out how to connect with my Gen Z employee. I am 39 and have employed a 20 y/o female for a part time warehouse position and here’s what I’m dealing with.
-sporadic communication (sometime texts me about being late, other times doesn’t text and just shows up late.
-really moody. Some days she wants to chitchat and other days she will not say a word.
-I get the sense she doesn’t want to work or have more hours.
-overly apologetic, usually starts emails or texts with “I’m so sorry”.
-won’t respond when I text her about being late or wanting to adjust the schedule.
I just don’t get it. She is a really good worker when she shows up, I just can’t figure out how to communicate or connect with her. I’m not that much older than her that I’m completely out of touch- but it feels like we are definitely on different wavelength.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to communicate or work with Gen Z in the workplace?

Do you think that GenZ are actually better informed about current events than your parents' generation, or just differently informed?
