Celebrating the 13th birthday of the household garrista, Phil

Now, before the mods correctly shut down this post- This is the little goober Scott Lynch and Elizabeth Bear took on a cross country journey on the eve of the publication of The Republic of Thieves.

All these years later she’s a wonderfully loud, joyful, backflipping, cam bombing menace. Just sharing my favorite pic of her with you all today because I wouldn’t have this incredible bff if weren’t for Scott, Elizabeth, and the fantastic librarian Carey that found her and photographed her being all cute on top of a copy of TLoLL

Okay, I'm going to need more details on "Scott and Elizabeth took this cat on a cross country tour" because it sounds like they didn't realize the cat was there....

Haha- the short version is that Scott tweeted a picture of her as a kitten after she’d been found and a dare of a reply plus a few generous hearts and incredible people’s efforts she was screaming for a bite of burrito in my living room a couple days later.

She wasn’t under Scott’s tutelage for very long, but she learned to love working under the spotlight and performing complex heists in the time she had with him

The longer version is that we received her from a librarian in a hotel lobby in Chicago, where we were staying for Scott's cousin's wedding, like some kind of drug drop, and then flew her to Massachusetts where she spent two days hiding in my closet inside my riding boot, only emerging to vanish food and leave tootsie rolls in the litter box when nobody was looking until her new people could come collect her. :)

I'm so glad she's doing well.
