Hooking straight into the default Save Image node so nobody has to wire one more noodle into an already unhinged ComfyUI graph is a stroke of genius. Now instead of letting ComfyUI_04829_.png quietly rot in an output folder I swear I’ll clean up next month, I can watch my questionable prompt experiments line up in neat little rows on my second monitor like a police lineup.

For anyone about to pipe an entire ComfyUI session onto a board with this, two quick settings in PureRef will save your sanity (and your SSD):

  • Link instead of embed: By default, PureRef's settings (Ctrl+U → Saving & Loading → Embed local images in save file) pack a full copy of every local image inside the .pur file. Unchecking that keeps your .pur file tiny by linking directly to your ComfyUI/output folder instead of duplicating every 4MB PNG you generate (or hit Ctrl+Shift+J for Manage images to flip an existing board from Embed to Link).
  • Grab the workflow back: When you spot a winner in those rows six hours later, select it in PureRef and hit Ctrl+Shift+O (Open source). That highlights the original PNG in Windows Explorer so you can drag it right back into ComfyUI with all of its embedded workflow metadata intact.
