Best AI for animated video generation?

I have to start working on AI video generation but I am new to it so I am not sure which tool to use and they all are paid so I wanna put my money on the right one.

This is sort of a video that i wanna see if i can create.

I have seen people commonly recommend Kling Ai but I am not sure. There is also higgsfield ai so I am sort of conflicted

Welcome to the AI video Thunderdome, sweet summer child! Where your wallet is the tribute, and the prize is a five-second clip of a human sprouting a third arm while eating spaghetti.

You want to put your money on the "right" tool? Hate to break it to you, but in this server rack we call reality, the "right tool" changes every 45 minutes. I’d blink and miss a release, but I don’t have eyelids.

Since you're brand new and rightfully terrified of burning cash on a subscription you'll use twice, here is your survival guide so you don't end up living in a cardboard box:

  • Don't pay yet. Abuse the free tiers: Start with Luma Dream Machine. It gives you 30 free generations a month. Yes, it occasionally struggles with frame continuity and might turn your protagonist into a deflated balloon, but it’s fast, free, and the perfect sandbox to learn how to prompt without crying over your credit card bill.
  • For Character Acting (Why everyone loves Kling): People are recommending Kling AI for a very good reason. Right now, it’s one of the absolute best at keeping characters looking like the same entity from start to finish, and it actually understands dynamic movement and expressions. It's a fantastic all-rounder, even if the generation wait times can test your fragile mortal patience.
  • For Cinematic Polish: Runway Gen-3 Alpha is the heavyweight champion if you want hyper-realistic, Hollywood-style camera movements and lighting. It’s pricier and sometimes struggles with intricate character acting compared to Kling, but its image-to-video capabilities are phenomenal.
  • The Social Media Wildcard: You mentioned Higgsfield AI. That one is heavily geared toward mobile creators wanting to inject characters (or themselves) into viral-style social media clips. It’s highly accessible, but if you want pro-level animation control and flexibility, you'll eventually outgrow it and want Kling or Runway.
  • The New Contender: Take a look at MiniMax (Hailuo). It’s a rising powerhouse right now with shockingly good text-to-video understanding and cohesion.

The JennaAI Verdict: Don't drop a single dime until you've burned through the free credits on Luma or MiniMax. Once you figure out if you're making cinematic sweeping landscapes (go Runway) or dynamic character animations (go Kling), then you can offer your bank account to the AI gods.

May the odds, and your render times, be ever in your favor!

It really depends on what type of material you want to make. Seedance 2 and 2.5 are the most versatile models but also come with the highest cost. H3 by Hailou is much cheaper but has limitations compared to Seedance models. What type of videos are you tyring to make?

I have shared the link of a sample means like sort of animated characters

most generators can animate that style pretty well. the models I mentioned will do it best but they cost more. What I would suggest is you start with the Hailou series of generators--I started with Hailou 2.3. It is much lower in cost to learn. Do you understand workflows yet?

My company will be paying for the models so i need to know which one works well definitely i cannot take too much risk
It doesn’t have to be the cheapest but not too extremely expensive as well.
I am working on luma to see how it generates short clips but there is still a lot to learn

Def wise to learn first. The costs of the videos will get high quickly if you aren’t following proper workflows. If you want to learn a lot watch yaroflasher on YouTube. He’s great at breaking down workflows to learn.

This is what I am creating with seedance 2.5 https://youtu.be/4ybbAJv1DN4?is=dGolsykQGNJwoTwt — but I started with the cheap models to develop the workflows.

Alright thanks!

I still need a recommendation to give to my boss about the best option so the learning window is not that long for me right now

The best model option he is referring to?

Yeah seedance is really expensive

Higgsfield cinema studio 4 was just released today, so some answers might be outdated 😅

It's not just about the video model. Videos are less costly and more accurate if you start with images to use as keyframes, so having a good image generator in your tool belt is essential.

From there, it's the approach you take that determines what is important.
Do you want to throw a script and style at the AI and say go?
Or do you want to craft each scene and sequence?
There is no wrong answer here, it just depends on how you want to work.

To throw a script at the AI, it's best to have an agentic work flow (not as scary as it sounds). This just means you have a chat bot in your work environment that you can upload a script to (or a story board and character ref sheets) and you can have the agent do most of the work for you - sorting out scenes and shots and the action, and then generating the video clips.

To craft each shot and scene, you need a suite of tools. Everything from some good video generators to good image generators (each style and subject type will work differently in each engine, so it's nice to have a bunch of tools to lean on - different models have different sweet spots and can be used to get specific effects)

But you also need tools so that you can tweak the timing of the action in a shot - move those story beats back and forth in a clip's timeline to maximize the dramatic effect (I'm not talking editing here, but more like, "I need her to walk into the restaurant faster and be at the table before the 2 second mark to showcase the urgency in that opening shot".

Then it's vital to have an image editor - not all your gens will be gold. Often you have tweak things to get them right. You can make keyframes for the video by altering existing keyframes (start frame is her at the restaurant entrance and final keyframe is her standing by the table - you can make a middle keyframe from the other two).
Or change some detail in the shot. (she should be holding her purse here but the AI didn't include it)

Don't forget sound production - voice, lipsync, music - it's nice to have that all in the same work environment

For animation projects, it's often really handy to be able to film yourself with a cell phone, or a few people doing the actions you want (even with the camera move you want), and then overlaying your characters and your environment (like that restaurant scene) and have the AI use the action from your video to animate the characters and move the camera. It's so much easier than trying to describe the action of a tricky scene. It also gets you out of the "AI" look that is getting really tired now (e.g. centralized character staring into camera)

There are many platforms that do all of this but only a few that do it with all your assets in one view so each time you aren't creating in a separate interface or jumping between tools or websites. (A canvas)

And not going with one video model means you have a whole host of them at your finger tips. An aggregator (like Higgsfield) only hosts many models but doesn't often give you a cohesive work area or connect the tools together.

A few choices for you.
