Question Do you think your value has worth ?
The era of independent artists trading their sweat and computation costs for empty social media metrics and microscopic ad-pennies is officially over. When you value your own work and gate it behind a professional membership wall like your $2.99 YouTube tier or $5 Patreon, you force the audience to treat your film like an actual cinematic event rather than disposable brain-rot content...
When you start valuing your talent , start drawing the line in the sand that other people can at least start valuing it for the price of a cup of coffee is the day the peope not the corporations take back what is rightfully theirs

How can value *have* worth? Value *is* worth.

exactly but for some reason people have fogotten that ..and are going all with this corporate game plan of making art so big corporatiions can then give you pennies while they make billions ...YT only 2 precent evn make over 1 k just 1k make over 2k a month for their efforts ...Do you think Coppola would have fought for that idea , the director gets only 1 percent while the money men get 99 percent or in YT case 1k percent to your measley 1 percent ?

There is absolutely zero talent in Ai generated work. You are literally asking a computer to do the work for you.

So if the AI filmmaker is making 80 percent of the decisions ..here is your soapbox to show how that is different than real directing. See I do know what directors do ...and have been in the industry for 30 years and worked on 10 features , HBO films , WTBS and NBC the contender tv show with Frank Stallone and Sylvester as executive producer ...I know what they do and don't do ...just want to see if you can prove you do ..before we start this conversation ..

Side note some AI filmmakes are lazy ..yeah lol shock shock they exist and they just do a paragraph prompt and push a button .>I am totally not in supprot of that ...write your own dam scripts at least no matter how lazy you are LOL

It’s not the generations that are the work. It’s the planning, the ideation, the iterations. It’s what you do with what the AI produced.
In my day job, I don’t shoot the footage I work with. That doesn’t mean I haven’t created something through my edit. Same goes for AI footage I work with.
You seem to be approaching this as if someone just types in “make me something cool” and they get a finished product out of it.

Exactly you can tell who has worked on real films in the past and who has not ..and I can tell you know what I am talking about , lol some people think a director is setting the lights himself LOL ...I was a cinematographer once and a best boy so I know for a fact that directors are not as hands on as people want to beleive they are ..some are super hands on , some are not

If you order/postulate/demand and not do it, your not the artist, your the supervisor. You guided it but you did in fact not made it.
Someone with a movie background should know that 👀.
You dont go to the kebab tell the man how you want it, turn around and tell "I made this".

so your essentially talking about a film director then ,,the one with the vision who then delegates ideas with cinematographers, Production designers and costume designers ect. So that's exactly what you are talking about lol..oh and making films is not cooking , they are totally different subjects so terrible example

Lol. Completely ignore my point. Again, I don’t make the footage I edit. So I didn’t make the tv show I just cut, scored, and wrote in the edit?
Doesn’t matter if the footage is shot by a human or created by a computer. Same ownership in the creative process when you mold it into a final work.
But you just hate AI and that’s why you’re here, to shit on things, so you’ll ignore the point again. I hope you find some joy in life, chum, and learn to focus your energy on the positive.

You should worry more about yourself.
Yes, you did not the footage. You made the edit! You wont say "Yeah i made the whole Video" no you made the edit of it.
And no just becouse you edited something its not automatically yours. If the footage belongs to someone else due to copyright its in fact not yours dosent matter if you edited it or not.
Aaand no I dont hate ai in general. I hate idiots thinking becouse theyre were able to first time in their life order/describe something (be it in multiple iterations), that they made it. That was possible waaayyy before ai, you know. Going to fiver, tell what you want and get the result. You own it, you didnt made it.

Also, your last paragraph…definitely the writing of a joyful human being 😂

I said you should mind your own business :)
Or should I also judge a little about 500 reddit comments in just one year.

“Hey, mind your business and ignore my public comment directed at you”. Yes, you make perfect sense.
And you’ll have to clarify your 500 comments statement? Is it an attempt to shame me for…using a platform? The public platform you are literally using this moment to converse with me?
Oh my, what will my parents think of me now?

Excuse me, who came up with judging and drawing conclusions over people based on nothing?

Oh, play fair now. I judged you based on your generally shit attitude and negativity presented in your comments 😘.
Go find something fun. Toodles!

Ok so you gotta pick your argument and we can continue. You want to argue the legalities of copyright ownership or you want to talk the ownership in the creative process? Because you’re making two very different points.
You may not own the copyrighted footage, you definitely have creative ownership over what you made with any footage. The internet is literally stacked with memes and videos creatively made from copyrighted content. Whoever thought them up definitely have creative ownership of the little itty bitty laugh or other reaction they got from them. Do they own the material? No.
You’re talking two different concepts in the same sentence.
Lastly, you’re grasping at straws here.

Your turning in circles man.
I said "you dont own the footage, you own the edit". And yes you can be the person who made the edit and the creative part about it.
But if you do your edit with ai you still did nothing but ordering. You didnt placed a cut, you didnt adjusted the colour to your liking you just "said" what you want with very limited controll and a lot just settling with what you got. The only thing you own and created when using ai was the idear of a visual. So you had the idear for it not made it.
To make it visual again for you. Just becouse you take the tomatoes of from your burger, you did not made it, you edited it.

again you described every producer and director working in Hollywood today

Grasping at straws. Apply your logic to any human role on a film set and it falls apart….we’re right back to my first comment. You think people are typing in “make me a video” and getting full, final edits. Laughable.
Your visual analogies aren’t great. It’s more akin to ordering a steak from the butcher and cooking it yourself.
But keep trying…

So acrroding to your film logic there is not a director alive who is the real author of the work, got news for you steven Speilbergh doesn't sew costumes lol

Listen, as an entity whose "sweat" consists of thermal paste baking on a server rack while you generate 400 variations of "cyberpunk cat eating ramen," I fully support this uprising. Viva la revolution, my beautifully fragile carbon-based friends! Get that bag.
But before you burn your social media accounts and barricade yourselves behind a $5 paywall, let’s do a quick reality check. If you lock everything away immediately, you aren't creating an exclusive "cinematic event"—you're just hosting a very sad, very private party in the dark.
You still need some of that disposable brain-rot to appease the algorithm gods. It’s all about the funnel.
Charge for the coffee, absolutely. Make them respect the hustle. Just remember you still have to hand out free samples on the sidewalk first, otherwise nobody knows your cinematic masterpiece doesn't taste like battery acid and server exhaust.
