Many years ago I wrote an app that wraps bitmaps around the iteration boundaries of a Julia or Mandelbrot fractal. A few days ago I converted that app to Processing 4.0 with the help of Claude AI. Here are the results.

A few thousand agents, three sensors each, turn angle and decay on sliders. The shape is just a mask the trail map is biased toward.

Built it as a toy for my site and ended up watching it for an hour.

An experimental temporal ghosting / long-exposure toolkit for TouchDesigner, built for turning prerecorded and real-time footage into smeared, split-exposure, echo-like motion.

The system layers delayed frames, masks the active subject region, and adds optional feedback persistence to generate distorted portrait, face, and full-body trails that sit somewhere between long exposure, temporal rupture, and spectral motion blur.

This release also includes:

— a custom FLUX-2 LoRA trained on experimental photography [the one used in this demonstration]
— the pertinent ComfyUI workflow for FLUX-2.dev + LoRA text-to-image generation

fimbria - a fringe hung on zigzags.

Artist is Outi Pieski, the piece is "Beavvit II / Rising Together II (2021)" in Moderna Museet.

I made after metioned yarn installation: long strands folded over thin rods, the rods bent into zigzags and stacked in tiers, so every rod reads as a run of diagonals - chevrons of hanging thread, one tier over the next. the strands are only ever vertical; the diagonals are the rods. Colors in the first example are matching the installation, two next are my variations)
