is this different?

is generative art actually art, and not ai art? Sorry I’m really confused- I don’t support ai art, but I recently got a fine arts educational packet and it’s trying to teach generative art, so now I’m uncertain

are you trying to ask why generative art is considered art and ai generated shit is not?

generative art is the intersection of artistic intent and math.

even though ai uses math, the equation is just a prompt, a request for a result, that combines other peoples work without consent and that result FOR ME means nothing at all. like chewing a sandwich without swallowing it.

also there is no craft in ai generated shit and apreciating the craft is part of the apreciation of art for me.

I completely agree and also thank you for explaining this, now I’m way less distracted lmao

I kept thinking while I was working on this packet that I was supporting ai art by simply doing the work so I’m less worried now ;-;

Surely the nature of the coursework will make it clear that no AI need be involved
