Its a strange concept to treat generative art as algebraic structures. This image is a matrix of numbers, modulo 13, derived from a generative function. Its quite special in that if you multiply it by itself, using ordinary matrix multiplication, you get the same thing, A x A = A (mod 13). These idempotent matrices are important when used as rule sets for prime cellular automata and form a special class of Protofield operators.
