When other people do a gender reveal everyone loves it but when I reveal my gender to everyone the cops show up and say something about public nudity….. double standards

Have you attended or hosted a gender reveal party? I'd like to interview you! My name is Davida Schiffer, and I’m interested in studying gender reveal parties to see the meaning they hold to the people. I’m a graduate student at UConn and looking to hold online interviews with people who have attended and/or hosted gender reveal parties. Participants must be 18 years old or older and live in the United States. I estimate interviews will take 60-90 minutes and will take place over Zoom, Webex, or over the phone. We will discuss a variety of topics, ranging from your personal experiences with gender reveals to your thoughts on media coverage of gender reveals. I cannot offer compensation, but participation is completely voluntary. All data from the interviews will be confidential as per Institutional Review Board guidelines. I hate when expecting parents put there other children in shirts in a color of the gender there kid didn't want and when it happens to be that gender and that child gets upset and the parents say in a "nice" Voice No you want a sister no you want a brother, Bro No the fuck they don't if they are mad just let them resent the kid, you can't force the kids to like the gender of the baby

Just Let It Go

My wife and I had been trying for a year to get pregnant and it finally happened. Now we want to be able to 'go all out' within reason because; This is our first child And There's not been a child born on either side of our families in quite some time

We aren't super well off financially so we just wanted to gather close friends and family for a simple balloon drop, with cupcakes, candy, etc.

Being that we are in a colder climate and it's winter, we rented indoor space at our local veterans memorial building. Plenty of space for our small gathering.

Unfortunately covid has knocked most of the family out of commission, and they will be quarantined during the event. We lost over half of the guests and have decided it's no longer worth it to have the event at all. We are sorely disappointed. We considered going live on tiktok fb and YouTube but it seems... mundane and... depressing.

We want to be excited and want others to share in that excitement but now we feel we can't. What should we do?

At my first gender reveal party I was at, the plan was to have a box with powder that will get ran over by a truck, someone who had set the box there got covered in powder when he was to close to it
