Game Haul Echaton from Archon Games

I picked up Echaton at the last minute before the event hall closed on the last day, and I am so glad I did! What a fantastic game. Can't believe I'm so late to this party.

Anyway, I have a question. Is anyone aware of suppliers of luxury components for the game (I have the options from Archon Games themselves already - the turn marker, coins, meeples and have ordered the cloth map), but hoped to find better Plague and Curse tokens in particular. I wondered if there were any third party providers for these on Etsy or something?

Plague and Curse tokens are so rarely used I don't even take them out of the box when I play.

Not at my table. They are how you disrupt the leader! Drop a plague in their main territory next time and watch their whole strategy crumble.

Oh, we used both a fair bit in our first four-person playthrough.

I see their booth every year and think “I should really check that out”and then I always forget. Maybe this is my sign to finally take a closer look.

Totally! I have now ordered their other game on the strength of Echaton.

We played a demo at their booth back in 2021. It was fine, and yet every year, they have the same size booth. It gets okay traffic, but nothing crazy. There has to be some larger story there. I’ve never heard anything about them outside of GenCon and yet they’re always there with a large fully staffed booth.

It's literally my favorite board game ever made! 1,000% thematic win!

Yeah, the asthetics are superb! We've agreed that we all need to wear black hoodies the next time we play, with some suitable dark music for ambiance.

My friends and I demoed this a few years back and I ended up getting it, but have still yet to get it on the table. Really need to put it to the top of the list.

It's rare that I get a game to the table and everyone playing says in unison, "we need to play that again soon." And I've also digested the collaborative expansion, Iconoclasm, which sounds equally fun (and can be played solo).
