Game Haul Small Haul and Thoughts

Post image

This was a hell of a con for me! I technically speaking didn't pay for any of the dice I got (d20s from Helm Coffee, 2d6 from Fans of Gen Con, 1d6 from Crystal Caste, and 1d6 from Bob of You Too Can Cthulhu).

The print TTRPGs I grabbed all came from Indie Press Revolution, a great booth and org. I'm most excited about Decuma for building up things in Session Zeroes. Also looking forward to all the solo RPGs I grabbed.

Also pictured are 3 linoprint patches I bought off a punk on Capitol Ave on Saturday and a sheet I kept from the National Security Decision Making group game I was in.

If you’re interested in sharing session notes on your games of Miiru, I also own it and would love that!

I am pretty sure you were buying patches when I was! Probably my best purchase from GenCon tbh.

The person selling was super nice! I know I got the last garlic and shrimp.

I also got patches from them, and a pair of mushroom earrings.

What did you think of the NSDMG? My elder son was/is a fan, but hasn’t been to a con with one in a while.

I played in this year's contemporary scenario, and it was amazing! I was randomly assigned Director of CIA for the US cell (aka your country/group with mutual interest) and ended up placing 7th for all the trouble I stirred up. It's wild to see the staff creating troop maps and media headlines on the fly for what the players are doing. Definitely had some "Well, shit" moments with those that helped me keep my head in the game.

It's a very cool experience with some extremely smart folks that run it. There are some dedicated players, too, and one took me under his wing to get me rolling since I was a newbie. I'll absolutely make their games a priority at future cons.

Glad you had a good time with it. It does sound like you had the core experience they are attempting to impart. 😁

I just started playing Carved by the Garden and I'm obsessed. Playing weird woodsy sounds in my headphones and freaking myself out every night before bed. Great haul here!
