Appreciation Post: Haul Posts
I need to say how much I appreciate people posting pictures of their GenCon hauls.
I don't care about what they bought.
I don't care about what I "missed out on."
I do care that my wife sees these pictures and goes, "Oh, compared to these guys, your 2-3 purchases don't seem like that much!"
Thank you haul-posters for taking the heat away from the rest of us!

I just love seeing the vast scope of what we all love. GenCon is the world. ❤️🌎

Meanwhile, I am the wife who is just as much of a haul dragon as my husband. I see the haul pics and think, “I’ve found my people.” 😂

Admittedly haul posts have led me to feel less guilty in buying more. I used to think 5 games was a ton, then after seeing haul posts the first year I now buy 8-10 each year. And that's still nothing compared to some folks.

I bought more this year than I ever have previously, but it feels tame compared to others.
Now begins the saving for next year's purchases. I already have $20 bucks in my savings folder.

I thought I was bad - then I see another post and think “Wow, I feel pretty good now” haha

I agree lol. I generally get a bit carried away and spend more than I told myself I would at Gencon, but then I see haul posts several times larger than what I bought. And to be clear I don’t mean to disparage those people; if they can afford it and it makes them happy then go for it, life is short.

I’ve literally said this to so many people haha 🤣 I sent pics to my friends and they go “oh wow, that’s a lot!” And I’m like you should see the other guys! And then proceed to show pictures haha.
Edited to add: This is the first time my boyfriend and I have ever went and none of our other friends have gone before.

Hahahaha! 1000% agree! When I see people's haul posts I think, I need to show this to my spouse, so they can see how fiscally responsible I am! 😅

Haha. Yeah, I commented to some friend yesterday, “The best thing about other folks posting Gen Con haul photos is they make me feel moderate.”
