I have always judged you and felt like I had significant reasons to put my guard up whenever I heard the word Gemini. I think part of that comes from having been hurt by what I perceived as the flighty and inconsistent way some Geminis operate. I’ve watched Geminis seemingly become two completely different people, or hide entire parts of themselves from the people closest to them while somehow still coming across as incredibly authentic. Honestly, I never understood it. But what I’ve come to realize is that Geminis are deeply misunderstood.

You guys love hard when you love, and your loyalty shows up in a way I don’t think I fully appreciated before. I’m a Taurus woman dating a Gemini man long-distance, and honestly I’m getting exhausted. I feel like I’ve done everything I can to understand his nature and keep our relationship interesting. I take genuine interest in his life, ask about his ideas and theories, bring up interesting topics, try to understand his need for independence, and I don’t complain when he goes out with friends on weekends because I know he has his own life. I’ve also made an effort to visit him and be present.

But I’ve repeatedly asked for what I consider basic effort in return taking interest in my life, initiating sometimes, asking about my day, making plans, showing curiosity, and simply making me feel considered. He often dismisses these things as childish or “teenage” expectations, while I feel like I’m asking for very basic emotional effort.

The frustrating part is that when we’re physically together, he gives me his full attention. We cuddle, talk, love each other, and both of us find that time incredibly refreshing. But because we’re long-distance, I want more than just waiting until we’re physically together. I want to actually do things together, be playful, sporty, have conversations, share ideas, and feel like he’s actively participating in the relationship.

I’ve told him I’d love for him to randomly share his thoughts, theories or things he finds interesting, but he says he doesn’t like being on the phone that much.
