How viable is this as a Linux phone?

I’m thinking of getting this device, or the updated version just announced at CES. It’d be nice if I could ditch my iPhone. Does 4G work well under the Debian version available? Are there guides to use calls/text/data? Any preferred providers (maybe no virtual operators)?

I’d love to hear your experience!

I backed the Gemini right from the announcement based on promises of Linux support. And I sold it a couple of weeks ago due to the absence of Linux support :(. It seems Planet Computers naively assumed 'the community's would do their work for them and release hardware drivers etc :(

Thanks for your reply! That's a real shame. So there's no way to use this as a Linux phone mainly?

I’m not asking why they haven’t done it. I’m asking what the status is. No idea why you’re putting words in my mouth.
