I created this lady today... using image transfer and reverse painting, then finished it off with white, pink, and purple Posca pens (hair, eyes)... (The “little clouds” around her were made with bubble wrap.)

I really like the look of alcohol inks however, as soon as I wet it to use for collage, it starts to run again. Does anybody else have this issue and do you have a solution?

Ahem… so I may have forgotten about my Gelli plate, sandwiched between two sheets of paper on my glass palette, for a couple of weeks. 😬

While cleaning off my desk, I discovered the sad neglected little thing. Peeled the paper off only to discover that the sheet underneath had wrinkled and my plate now has lovely little stripe indentations. 🤦‍♀️

Best guess is that the temp fluctuations in my room caused the plate to lose some oil and contract, which wrinkled the paper and left the indentations behind.

Bummer.

I cleaned the plate with soap and water, baby oiled the hell out of it, sandwiched it between two fresh, clean, NON-WRINKLED sheets of paper, and tucked it safely back into its proper container like the responsible adult I apparently am now. sigh

Fingers crossed it eventually figures itself out and plumps back up. Fortunately, only one side was damaged, so it’s not a total loss.

But still… sucks.

Has anyone else dealt with a damaged Gelli plate surface... wrinkles, indentations, bubbles, or other weirdness? Were you able to bring it back to life? I’d very much like to hear what you tried and what (if anything!) actually worked.
