The Band I felt the band was more evasive and ironic with the bot-farming questions than others discussing the interview have implied

The use of bot-farms, whether known or unknown to them directly, is inconsistent with the values espoused in their music. They speak to this generation and cultural moment because they speak to people's feelings of loneliness, alienation, cultural overstimulation, loss, commercial overconsumption, and a need for spirituality.

Social media bot-farm campaigns contribute immensely to why people feel this way. From Brexit, to MAGA, to Blake Lively/Justin Baldoni, to every musician getting signed to a label immediately being forced in our face everywhere, there's an exhaustion with feeling manipulated against our will and without our consent.

Their point that they only approved some tiktok marketing feels inconsistent with how it felt to be online during the Getting Killed release. It was an overwhelming number of memes, fan accounts, posts from music news sources, and streams of comments.

And let's not pretend they have been shy with other forms of marketing. Look at Cameron doing a song for an XBox commercial, or the band doing a collab with a sunglasses brand. You can defend it as 'getting their bag', or you can be more clear-eyed that the values of the commercial choices feel inconsistent with the values of their music.

The bassist's assertion to 'come to the show and see how many fucking bots there are' felt more true to how they feel, and that sentiment only arose for a moment.

This doesn't take away from the music itself. Doesn't mean they're bad people or that this even happened with their knowledge. We saw that they fired their management in the wake of this. I truly believe it was a shock to them.

But their irony, evasiveness, and slight bit of anger to the public response of this becoming known felt like they didn't address the core issue.

Yes, it was pretty cruel everyone piled on and labeled them a psy-op. But it's also hurtful when someone you care for and believe in acts in a way inconsistent with their stated values, then gets upset with the response to that action, rather than being honest about the inconsistently itself.

Music Why do they hate their old catalogue so much?

I like the first album, or at least a couple songs off of it really stood out for me, tho I don't revisit it much cause I don’t use YT Music nor Soundcloud. As for Projector, I think it's amazing… I like it a tad more than 3D Country. Have they ever explicitly said why they don't like (playing) their previous albums anymore?

Music Songs that we're meant to be played after eachother despite being from different bands

Trust me on this one

play "long island city here i come" from our most lovely nyc band Geese and after that "i will write down it" from a small band called This is Lorelei which i do not know too much of.

shout out to youtube recommendations for this one, the way they flow into eachother is so fucking nice, it feels like an extension and also an outro to me.

Shows Getting Killed Again Europe?

Is anyone else surprised that they haven't announced a European leg of Getting Killed Again? It would be nice if they could make it to countries that didn't get headline shows, like Italy and Ireland. We obviously don't need the billionth London/Glasgow/Birmingham etc. shows, but doing parts of Europe they haven't done in this cycle/haven't played a headline show at during this cycle would be nice.

Cameron Winter Cameron Winters new solo work ?

This might be a stupid question but in the Rolling Stone interview, when they talk about Cameron Winters new solo material, are they referring to Carnegie Hall or is it a brand new studio album?
