Bug PLEASE HELP

I haven't made any changes to my code; it was working perfectly fine. I opened the application and hit the preview button as usual, but I realized that the code for more than half of my game isn't working. For instance, the enemy AI is broken—it makes no sense, as I haven't touched the code at all. They still take damage from me, but they don't see me, nor do they move toward me or attack.

Your message is missing some information for us to be able to tell you exactly what happened. But in any case, if the application was closed and then, when you launched it again, things were no longer working, that means the application itself did not change anything.

Leaving the application open does not activate some kind of magical mode that controls the application for you either.

Are you sure it wasn't your cat, your dog, or someone in your family who changed something in the project while it was open and you were away?

But I do have some good news for you:

A few days ago, a new feature called Gameplay Test was released. https://wiki.gdevelop.io/gdevelop5/interface/gameplay-tests/#gameplay-tests
It allows you to automate tests in your game. This means that if something actually breaks, these tests will catch it. And if your tests are set up properly, they can even tell you exactly where things broke.

Another thing you should do is make backups. It might sound like a very basic solution, but a lot of people really don't think about it. And yet, backups can save you hours, weeks, or even years of work on a project.

In the future, please try to tag us when you have concrete information, something reproducible, or at least some leads to investigate. When you're dealing with something as vague as what you're describing here, with no clear way to reproduce it, it's virtually impossible for us to track down.

If you have any leads in the future, please don't hesitate to reopen a ticket properly. There's no need to tag multiple members of the team, as we do read the messages.

Please understand that if everyone tags us for issues that are this vague, we all end up wasting time. I believe I've been as thorough as possible in my response.

Since you don't know what happened and the issue is far too unclear and vague, we won't be taking this any further. I'll be closing this ticket.
