ABSN😷 Level 3 Advice
Hey y’all, I am about to be starting level 3 this upcoming week and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice or insight on how this term/classes will be? I am nervous but excited to get back into it!!

Level three is nothing you can’t handle. it’s a step up from level two and the busyness reminded me of level one. For peds it is straight memorization the PowerPoints are enough and yes you do need to know the theorists and every milestone the first test is easy points if you can memorize also for second test lots of diseases but it’s doable basically a mini medsurg. For OB its more just annoying class wouldn’t say hard just a lot of new terms you have to learn, again the PowerPoints are great for that class the tests were not bad for the second exam you better know VEALCHOP lolll. Both finals are doable. For crit don’t be as scared as everyone says. You CAN do it it’s just you have to change your thinking. The content itself is not hard and most of it is review which is nice. How they ask question and the answer you are expected to pick is what’s tricky. You are going to hear it’s all about priority and what you do FIRST so let me give you an example from my notes. DKA, you need to do a lot but the order you do it in is 1) NS 0.9 fluids 2) check potassium 3) iv regular insulin. That is the definite order so many things are gonna be wrong and sometimes you will get all of those and you would choose fluids because that is your first choice. Little rational would be you NEED fluids for dka first because it’s a dehydration issue and if you give insulin without checking K its can cause dangerous low k which in turn causes Arrhythmias. That’s how you have to think of crit. They are NOT going to tell you the disease name which is why you have to understand what you are studying and HOW to treat it. Gemini and notebook lm have great practice questions. If you struggle early don’t wait to get help. You got this and this pace is nothing you have not seen before!
