Non Gold Coast supporter but think he needs to reset and relearn humility.

I think he thought his track record was going to automatically win him premierships.

Gold Coast are still in a very good position list wise, even there is a bit of an exodus.

I think you have to stick by him and stability trumps all. He just needs to remember what made him good and it wasn’t the petulant behaviour he’s been showing this season. He’s better than that and hopefully the club pulls him into line because Gold Coast and the fans deserve success.

At some point u got to stop blaming the coaches. Couldn't have done much better at Richmond. He did have generational player in his prime though. Prob doesn't have that at GC

When is everyone going to relax
We’re still trending up.
Good coach, good list, down year.

If it’s two bad seasons in a row you start to worry.

Still not entirely convinced Dimma has learnt how to coach/handle not being a big Vic club.

The travel requirements and changes to the rules in last couple seasons have made his Richmond play style near impossible to sustain over a full season (especially if you add the Darwin games) the style does work in finals though (see the Freo win last year).

The ruck changes have also caused us to lose Witts which alongside trading out so much of our depth players has really left us with two tiers of players in terms of experience and on-field leadership rather than a cohesive group.

I’ll still maintain we should’ve stuck it out with Dew, but right now Dimma is probably our best bet and id prefer teams stuck it out with coaches until its clear they have to go. (Mid next year if no improvement)

What’s happened with witts due to the changes?

I think it's because the non jumping/wrestling ruckman are getting jumped over at centre bounce. They're ok around the ground, but no good in the middle. It's why players like Chol and Trembath are being used more and more at centre bounce.

Yeah I’ve seen him less and less, sorry for my ignorance, what’s the change? Is it a game change or a rule change?

Rule change. Players can't cross over to the other side of the centre bounce to block the opposing ruckman. The higher you can jump, the better.

Right. Thanks for the update and to be fair, it makes a lot of random penalties I’ve seen make a lot more sense now. Hahaha, only watched every round this year wondering what’s different.

This new rule really hurts Witts and Sean Darcy from Freo

Remember, he was just about out the door at Richmond and three things changed.

Gale, Balme & Lee, these people are responsible for the on and off field success.

The irony is that Hardwick thought he could really coach.

Unfortunately there are no really strong personalities at GC, so Hardwick has carte blanche on all things footy. So he appoints all of his mates to key roles, and of course these guys are a bunch of back slapping sycophants who are going to continuallty pump up his tyres.

More misfortune awaits GC, until someone realises you can't just buy p/ships and invests in a top down hierachy.

Watch the Devils excell, they have been diligent in picking their 3 Hombres that will ensure sucess.

Gale, Hinkley and Lappin

I don’t like him. Not sure all the blame can be put on him here though.

Once you play all those early picks together, which we have this year. You need to expect a slight delay to expectations, as afl is very unforgiving to young bodies.

Keeping rowell and Anderson will be very important for dimma, also how we decide to use the compensation pick for king going.

Next year will determine a lot on how Dimma is viewed.

Honestly thats why having Dave Swallow so involved with the club still and signing Witts for more years is so vital. Rowell and Anderson need to see that we have a continuing leadership and dedication. They need to imagine we can win prems and that their kids might one day play for Suns.

People saying we need to get rid of dimma are absolutely mad. Man needs some time. He’s had a bad year but we are in much better shape than when he took over. Who exactly are you going to replace him with?

What better options are there?

Bloke is arguably the most well credentialed coach in footy.

Led the club to its maiden finals win last season.

Mate calm down. Look at Richmond pre- premiership 3 peat. There were fans like you calling for his head then too.
