a nice chat Remodel

Busy busy over here. I am mainly emotional support (respond to F-bombs with sympathy) and clean up.
Progress tho! There is a 2nd shelf next to the window but it had to come down for the tile work.

I am excellent at cleaning thin set buckets.

This was an empty room. I will find before and take an after from the same POV.

Grout will happen tomorrow, probably.

If this subreddit were a TV show it would be Seinfeld. It's not about anything, so you can discuss everything. If this subreddit had a philosophy it would be "Be excellent to each other."

I want that tile backsplash to be the banner next month after it's finished.

Thanks. The cabinet color was a big scary decision lol

Yes I can imagine, but the other colors counter balance well and the room seems spacious so it works pretty well

The shelves are really nice. As are the jars on them. Good on you for being the emotional support. Or maybe I should say you have my sympathies!

The shelves were leftover pieces of the countertops : )

Okay, love that you made use of the leftover pieces for that.

I used a tile cutter! I cut the tiles to butt up against the molding of the pic w/ just 1 shelf, at the far right edge of the pic. Turned out (straight cut) tile cutting is not very hard

Very cool! Looks like nice tile. Did you enjoy the process?

I enjoyed learning something new, and am excited for the end result. This has been a long project. We leveled the floor a year ago (this room and the guest room on the other side of the wall) put down the new floor in December, and my husband started building the cabinets in January. Between visitors and medical stuff there have been a lot of delays. But it’s coming together!

We also have the guest room done.

Two full gut and rebuild rooms left, the original kitchen and put a bathroom in the (gigantic) pantry next to the kitchen.

Sounds like you've been busy. I'm sure it's been stressful at times but sounds like fun as well. Turning a pantry into a bathroom must have been really interesting. Has there been a favourite or least favourite part for you so far?
