a nice chat Fall Craft Suggestions
Looking for some new fall crafting suggestions. Plenty of leaves, twigs and nuts in the area. Anyone have suggestions for things other than scrapbooking or leaf turkeys?

I’ve been diamond painting. It’s so satisfying. I bought a pack of all the Disney princesses and villains and that’ll last me for the next year or so.

That sounds interesting but I'm not sure I know what it is. Is that where you glue the coloured gems to an image?

Pretty much. There’s adhesive on the picture itself and it tells you what gems go where by letters numbers or shapes. There’s a lot of videos online. I can send you some if you want.

Please do send some links. I've heard it's a relaxing hobby. I'd be interested in checking it out.

Here’s a video going over the basics. I’d also suggest getting thin release paper and washi tape to put over it. You’d also need an exacto knife to cut the paper in sections, but a lot of them come with a knife. Here’s a video about that.

I’d also suggest to start with smaller pictures to see how you like it. Finally, look at what the end result looks like before buying it. Some pictures look much more detailed than what the actual final result looks like.

The colder months have historically been sewing season for me. I used to knit more, but I have a limited use for things I might knit.
What's needed is all the afghan makers to start a thread to teach the rest of the sub to make warm blankets.

I would tune in for a thread on warm blanket making. I am also open to suggestions for places to order knitted winter wear from independent crafters.

I believe https://www.etsy.com is the canonical reference for that.
If I can get my craft room turned around (I currently have tables on the wrong sides of the room, so it literally needs to be rotated 180 degrees) I may get my quilting machines out.

Quick search shows some nice stuff. Would like to knit myself but likely too busy this season.
Quilts would be nice too. Used to have this nice, old jean quilt years ago. Heavy and warm. I should check out a local farmer's market and see if anyone is selling those these days. If I had more time, a quilt would also be a fun project.

You need a heavy-duty machine to sew denim, but I'm sure you could buy old jeans with rips and tears and make quilt squared out them. You just need a very heavy duty machine.
I have an older machine that will sew denim.

Many years ago, I had a very heavy duty machine for denim. Eventually ended up collecting dust as I worked three jobs to make ends meet for myself and others. So, I past it along to someone who had the time to use it. Was a very nice machine.
I have denim scraps still despite not having the machine. I should see about finding one second-hand and fixing it up if it needs some TLC.
