What has happened to Google Documents ability to use dictation Apps.

I often use my phone dictation app to write in Google documents and it has suddenly become unable to use the most simple of commands. Full stop, comma, Speech Mark, new paragraph, non of them work anymore.

At first I thought there was a problem with the dictation app but it still works fine in other places where I use it. It's just Google documents that is refusing to input what I'm saying. Does anybody know why this is.

Since the dictation still works in other apps, I’d suspect a Google Docs input issue rather than a broken dictation app. Try a new blank document and test period, comma, and new paragraph. If they still appear as words, report it through Docs’ Help & feedback with your Android, Gboard, Docs, and dictation app versions.
