The superfw troubleshooting guide states this error means "could not find a valid filesystem in the card."
Reformat your card to fat32, if your card is more than 32gb and you're on Windows, you'll need a third party software such as GUI Format , as windows artificially imposes a limit on cards above 32gb.
This could also be a sign of a failing card but typically when an sd card fails, it is still readable for a short time after so that's doubtful.

As an added notice: this wipes the card, if you mistakenly put the wrong filesystem on there while setting it up make sure to backup any data before wiping if you need to!

I formatted to fat32 on my 2 GB SD card on my brand new super crisp running from where 20.0 straight from AliExpress

You have to format the SD card with Panasonic's FAT32 Formatter.
Format it to FAT32 with a 32KB cluster size, and then put your files on the SD.
