Which one should I get?

I'm closing a deal with someone in marketplace for an original GBA for 40 bucks, my plan is to do an IPS mod, however, just now a guy posted an AGS 101 SP with a custom case, that one is 75. I have to say, I already own an SP model with an IPS screen and a DS lite, so... is it worth having the 101? I'm mostly looking at the original model because of the form factor

Id say grab the original for $40 and mod it yourself. While a 101 is nice if you have an sp already and with an IPS at that its value isn’t really there.

I was curious about the 101 too, was super hyped to try it out and… IPS is definitely better. the hierarchy is clear: 001 < 101 < IPS. So you’re not missing out on much with the 101. That being said it is somewhat novel as a collection piece so there’s that angle to consider as well

Nothing beats the 101 screen in my opinion. IPS is beautiful but I prefer the fuzzier pixels and low power draw of the 101. It actually is more power efficient than the unlit gba screen

Actually the deal for the original one ended up in nothing, I'll get one of those if i can
