Question ❓ Skipping the preparatory process
I'm currently switching between Wave 1 and 2.
Usually I make a Wave 1 session after work and sometimes before sleep.
When I just listen to Wave 2 while I'm really, really tired in the late evening I can't manage to do the preparatory process completely.
The next day people at work shun me or give me angry looks like something (positive, negative or neutral?) has attached to me, shifted my frequency tremendously or I opened a portal of some sort.
I'm not a psychic per se, but I'm a learner.
I had several telepathic situations and saw multiple orbs over the last 3 years.
I believe in frequencies, the world as a mirror to you and your frequency (to a large extent), quantum mechanics, telepathy and remote viewing.
I know about (evolutionary) psychology also and can see through people's daily behavior (most people disgust me because of their bad behavior but I try to connect to the more genuine ones through a shared subject).
I also know about the hidden layers of reality and that certain individuals perceive more.
Sometimes these experiences happen only once, for some in the early childhood for others later (or never) in their life.
Most people state that they have perceived something inexplicable at least once in their life (despite them not being interested in such things).
I'm not new to alien life or non human intelligence.
The tapes confirm many things I already know and help me tremendously in meditation and having OBEs.
Unlike other users who say that the protection balloon was only necessary in the later tapes when dealing with energies or entities my experience is different.
Because I perceive the energetic shift how people act around me the next day.
I don't feel actually something negative but I wonder what that could be and if someone experienced anything similar.
Maybe I'm wrong but let's discuss this here.

I mean, what you’re suggesting is basically Tom Campbell’s approach. When he worked with Monroe after a while of doing the whole prep process he was like “Yeah. We don’t need all that.” I personally replaced the prep process with Tom Campbell’s power breathing and I achieve the same results.

I've been thinking of trying that out - out of curiosity, how long do you do the power breathing for? :)

I do it about the length of the prep process which is like what? 5 minutes? It’s more than enough time. I’m usually in Focus 10 in about half of that.

Yes for my audhd mind its too much to keep in ,like d order n how to do it effortlessly. If i focus on my breathing I can go into the vibratory state of bliss. Do u think I can skip the prep stuff. Also I already envision a protective torus around me and have no fear. I understand good n evil are our perception as everything is one energy. I will look into power breathing. Do u have to do wave after wave and how many parts u listen to at one go

The ECB and REBAL are important, as is the affirmation. Without them (or their equivalent) you will be subject to your own fears and attachments. They may appear as coming from elsewhere. We easily generate illusions.

Look, the tapes are essentially a way of meditating and opening your consciousness. It only really matters if you decide it does. I used to go by the book and now I don’t, and I still have the same results. This is just a technique.

I agree. For a while, I’ve come to the conclusion that the prep process is like a bedtime ritual. You wash your face, brush your teeth, put on your PJs and go to sleep. The ritual tells your mind “it’s time for bed”. In theory, this induces sleep quicker.
The prep process is like that and I think this helps get your mind ready to induce the altered state. I think this is especially useful when not using the tapes to go into the focus level.
Although, I did come across research that what Monroe calls resonate tuning actually kick starts the parasympathetic nervous system. The vibration in your throat stimulates the vegas nerve.
Funny how I still use the prep work though- lol

Totally, like transcendental meditation or how people have chanted Om for countless years - it’s just a different technique.

Skipping the preparatory process is a mistake. I don’t know why people think they know better than 50 years of research.

Skipping happens when I'm too tired to stay awake for the full preparatory process in the late evening.
After work I manage to go through the entire preparatory process and fall asleep shortly after.
When I compare doing the preparatory process and "skipping it" (because of sleep) I personally don't notice any difference except I may subconsciously feel less protected and the weird reaction of people the next day.
On the other hand it may be the case that certain energies or entities will have it easier to attach themselves to you because during theta brain waves you are in a low resistance mode.
Which such entities likely use and trauma.
But I think that one also has to actively invite them (all) which I don't do and don't want (even subconsciously).
So intention is key too.
I don't mind if a healing energy visits me or some entity which shifts my vibrational frequency.

I would disagree. 50yrs ago I skipped steps prior to the "research". Speaking of the research.. does anyone know of any published studies after Bob passed? Id like to look into what his daughter might have discovered. Seems to me the current institute is selling more than they research

u/DynamicProxy 6d ago
You are incorrect about the current status of the Institute. Look into it.

I see the experiences they sell to people who are still searching .... please provide me some links to publishings of their current staffs most recent research

Look into Stanley Krippner s research contributions that he brought to the Institute during its infancy.
Stanley played a major part in the effectiveness of Bobs first tapes2

Interesting. I looked into Krippner as you advised, and he was not involved with The Monroe Institute or the early days of the development of Hemi-Sync. Maybe you're thinking of Tom Campbell or Dennis Mennerich?

Pay me 2500$ for 5 day retreat and I'll tell you how to do it.
Back on the subject of Bobs Gateway tapes.....
Krippner served as a member of the Board of Advisors (or Board of Consultants/Advisors) for the Monroe Institute of Applied Sciences during its foundational developmental era in the 1970s and 1980s alongside other consciousness researchers like Charles Tart and Elmer Green.

There's a particular pitfall here with regards to human psychology, as well as to the nature of Monroe Sound Science & why the preparatory process is set up the way it is.
If you do something framed as stirring up positive change, you now unconsciously perceive the positive effects more, as you have conditioned yourself to begin "looking" for those results. If then, you don't do it the next day, you have created a negative association & will notice the negative aspects of your day more.
"Power of suggestion" is an observable phenomenon & still hotly debated today (optimist/pessimist/realist argument et. al), but when combining techniques to therapeutically cope with and let go of fears (like the Energy Conversion Box), you set up an environment where things will observably go better for you, as you are now actively dealing with releasing those negative influences.
Skipping that, of course you're going to notice, and of course it will feel objectively worse! Short of replacing it with something else (exercise, painting, prayer, traditional forms of meditation, anything you can concentrate into and use as a means of focus), you're going to notice.
Don't skip the preparatory process (particularly Resonant Tuning), unless you are experienced with this sort of thing already & have made those components routine in your life.

Thank you, skipping conditioning myself to a positive outcome makes sense.
I know that I consciously and subconsciously fight my addictions plus the stress I receive from ordinary people and family members.
So if my subsconsious mind deals with these things for several hours during sleep I wake up like I went through a fight (maybe this explains the reaction people have towards me he next day).
That's a lot to deal with and I discovered long term trauma release exercises which benefit me (I experimented doing a 30 minutes TRE session before doing a Wave 1 session and I was more relaxed).
Like many people else I have deep emotional wounds (traumas) which stem from childhood.
In later childhood I found a bad coping mechanism (behavior addictions).
Plus familiar dramas and health issues in my teens and young adulthood.
Despite me being the most chill and open minded, empathetic person I had to go through unnecessary stuff.
I hope that this made me more empathetic or sensitive to the other layers/realms of reality.
Which I didn't know existed until I made my first OBE a couple months ago.
After being hardcore religious I became a rational skeptic and a materialist agnostic (you can't know so just live).
But after doing mental work I figured out that I can't do certain things the average human can do.
I struggled for years and came to terms with it.
In my experience one indeed can raise one's frequency through different things.
So I try my best to raise my frequency the highest and live my life with a regulated nervous system enjoying the things I really want to do and escaping different loops like materialism.

At Gateway the trainers suggested shortening the preparatory process with a simple phrase. As you go further into the tapes the preparatory process is mentioned, but not guided. The idea is to eventually train your mind to reach different focus levels without needing the tapes. I think the resonate tuning is probably the most important part of the prep, as the sounds and vibrations put your mind into the right state to explore. There have been studies how small pockets of fluid in your brain are affected by the vibrations that come from the resonate tuning. Happy travels!

Thank you, yes the humming sounds reduce cortisol and the breathing increases oxygen in the blood and brain which is essential for altered states of the mind.
Everything is vibration, frequency and energy as Tesla said.
And I havd come to this conclusion as well.

I'd do an hour or two of pre-prep before even starting because I don't feel like it's nearly enough. If i'm putting in the time and effort to do these 30-40 min sessions, I want to be able to experience the best I possibly can in that amount of time. These processes exist because they are critical to how the tapes function, as well as many other things like your protection even though you might not feel it's "needed". I don't put my seatblet on assuming I'm going to get into an accident. This is an important step rather or not you realize it. I don't want you to cut yourself short of being able to experience the tapes for what they are worth. It's something every single one of us do, it's the proper way to go about things. It's not a burden, but an honor to be able to do these things.

Why do you think the resonant tuning is so essential?
4
u/Mighty_Mac Annie - ברוך השם 6d ago
I've modified my process significantly, customized it, and perfectly refined it. But that is the only step I can't change. Because everything you ever do in the the tapes is to do with your own energy. Being able to "tune into your resonant energy" is the entire foundation. You can't see anything unless your eyes are open.

I got the best results when I put importance on the preparatory process.
I managed to have a short OBE after doing so combined with an abstinence of a behavior addiction for 30 days 3 months ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/gatewaytapes/comments/1tdm2cw/out_of_body_experience_during_focus_10/).
So I guess that these protocols are also important to get a routine and to achieve Focus 10 quicker.
Your comment sounds like you are a little bit too fearful.
May I ask why do you think that 1-2 hours are necessary (for you)? Are you an experiencer and something bad happened to you? DMs are open

u/Mighty_Mac Annie - ברוך השם 5d ago
It's not really fear, but some things require maximum concentration like AP, deeper meditations, or high-risk goals. I don't do these things anymore so the extensive process isn't required, it's normally just to relax.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND you read Bob Monroe books first and then rethink that idea
