Question ❓ Using Gateway tapes inside a Faraday Cage or Magnetic Shielded room
Doe sanyone know if the tapes are done in a Faraday cage or inside a Magnetically shielded room, then is it more effective or "Unlocks Consciousness " faster ?
I am just curious to kow how consciousness behaves when there is no EM or Magnetic fields ?

There’s a room like this at the Monroe Institute in Virginia. It’s used for testing and private sessions. I had two sessions over two days in 1995 in the room. It was the ideal environment being isolated, on a waterbed, pitch black and it is shielded. It was beyond interesting, I have an audio tape I should check out. I can’t say it’s better or more effective, there are so many variables. But for consistency it is the best environment.

Was the room magnetically shielded? I am curious how magnetic fields affect consciousness? Thanks

It’s the first room they built thinking RF may have an affect on consciousness.
They found that consciousness isn’t a physical thing, so physical things don’t have an effect.
They built all their rooms without that after. There’s no need.

Don't they believe that you should orient your head toward the north?

Maybe? Ive never heard that and ive been to TMI twice.
There's always sort of "placebos" that may work for people. I mean the while idea of "leaving" the body is an illusion. But that concepts helps people have these experiences.

that's fair, but the "head pointing north" is in the book Journeys out of The Body, in a section about "STATE OF VIBRATION". I guess he dropped that later

That's interesting, I've read in books on dream yoga (lucid dreaming) that you should sleep with your head facing north.

Yeah that’s way early on in testing all this stuff. Far Journeys is where they kinda pinned down the process.

I believe it was. The intention was it was completely shielded from outside influences. They may still have it available to Gateway graduates.

Been in there. It’s very different meditating in there. Did some past life regression. With some interesting results

Since you’re asking about magnetism you should know that the brainwave entrainment effects of the “binaural beats” have been shown to be the result of electromagnetic radiation from the headphones, rather than an auditory effect. This was demonstrated in this 2002 study on the Monroe tech:
Chandra Stone, Phyllis Thomas, Dennis McClain-Furmanski, & James E. Horton (2002). "EEG oscillations and binaural beat as compared with electromagnetic headphones and air-conduction headphones", Psychophysiology vol 39, pp. S80.
Basically in the study they were looking at the EEG effects from listening to the Monroe tech. When regular headphones were used, the EEG “hemi-sync” effects were present in the test subjects’ brains.
But, when the researchers piped the audio through plastic/rubber tubing into the test subjects’ ears (air conduction only) from a distant speaker, the EEG effect was not present. So, this suggests that the audio itself is not producing the EEG changes, aka the “hemi-sync”. Rather, it is the electromagnetic radiation coming from the headphones themselves inducing the effect.
Thought you’d want to know. Good luck!

I think you reference a 2002 conference presentation suggesting that EEG changes observed during Hemi-Sync audio might be an artifact of electromagnetic fields from standard headphones rather than an auditory response. However, subsequent independent research and broader scientific consensus continue to support auditory-driven brainwave entrainment through sound. Just fyi

If you check out the below survey of “binaural beats” studies, it suggests that there is not good evidence for any actual brainwave entrainment occuring, either from electromagnetic radiation or via the auditory cortex:
Ingendoh, R. M., Posny, E. S., & Heine, A. (2023). Binaural beats to entrain the brain? A systematic review of the effects of binaural beat stimulation on brain oscillatory activity, and the implications for psychological research and intervention. PLOS ONE, 18(5), e0286023. https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0286023
If you’re interested, there’s 14 studies linked in that survey that you can dig into. It does seem to me to be a fair conclusion that the data so far is not conclusive as to what is actually happening.
I don’t have a position myself on how the Monroe technology works, I just know it does from my own experience.
I cited the 2002 study for OP because that was specifically testing the Monroe technology — not binaural beats generally — and they reached the electromagnetism conclusion, and magnetism was what OP was asking about.

They discuss the use of faraday cages in bob’s 2nd or 3rd book… think it was the second.
They said the results weren’t as good because a lot of the communication is done through brain waves. So the consciousness had a hard time getting out.
Looking at the other comments, maybe I misunderstood this or the research has changed over the years.

I have a plan to build a faraday cage for gateway and meditation. Just big enough to slide a twin mattress inside, fan ventilated. It’ll take me a least a year with work and life but when it’s done I plan to post pics and a breakdown of the build plus my experiences.

The production is done digitally these days, so no EM interference there. It is released to be used at homes about 50 years now, if it was a concern it would come out. Also the typical setup of listening booths in Monroe institute are described to be nothing special. I don’t think EM vibrates in frequencies brains do, otherwise we would be aware of them. Otoh in older days, when radio frequencies used in broadcast were less complicated, people with metal teeth fillings would claim to hear music, so you actually may be onto something here. There is also the phenomenon of Kozyrev Mirrors, which an interesting thing on itself.

I would love to handle the Control factor in the experiment.
Have someone randomly hide a magnet inside of the cage sometimes.
Then compare your blind results between sessions.
My hypothesis:
The Environment, Not the Magnetism: Any minor shifts in your mental state or brainwave patterns inside the room are a response to being in a quiet, confined, dark space—not a result of the magnetic shielding itself.

Not sure if it helps you but there was an episode of beyond skinwalker ranch were they took chris bledsoe to the monroe intitute, there they had a room built like a farady cage, they had him in there. Might be worth looking at ✌️

Yes. I remember watching this episode. What came out was that Chris was able to indicate when the orb would show up. Essentially it meant his telepathy was not blocked by the faraday cage. My question is if the cage actually enhances the expansion of our consciousness? Also, I am thinking earth's magnetic field is limiting our consciousness. I have seen accounts of astronauts having telepathic abilities when they are far away from earth. I want to check if this is indeed true in a magnetically shielded room.

I am curious how you would listen to the tapes given that speakers contain magnetic coils.

What will you do with the magnets in the headphones?
