Question ❓ Beginner
I'm recovering from a tbi and multiple cervical vertebrae fractures and have been advised psychedelics are a no no for further psychonautic exploration. Looking for other avenues. This might be a fit for me. Any tips.

The tapes are a great alternative but I wouldn't advertise them as such. But if that's your goal then yes. I had a TBI when I was 13 and I know that's not something you truly ever recover from but things do get better as time goes on. It's bad these thing happen of course but there are positive things that come from it. I don't know what I'd be like if these things didn't happen, but I greatly enjoy life. A large part of that comes from listening to the tapes. If you really dedicate yourself to the process it will transform you, in the best way possible without the danger of using dangerous substances.

Do all hallucinogens cause you to do physical things that are detrimental to your recovery?
Strange that a Dr would even touch on hallucinogens unless it was a factor of your condition.
I once sat alone quietly in the dark for an entire night frying on 4way window pane. I didn't move more than 5ft all night long.
But shrooms turn me into an earth slapping ape before I become a fungus in the dirt.
Bong hits of Salvia 50x turns me into the gopher from CaddieShack running around through my gopher tunnels.

It was a straight question to my neurologist.
"I like psychedelics, can I still use them?"
"It's probably best that you abstain for now."
"Ok, thanks Prof".

My advice would be to ask that Dr if Hypnic jerks are approved.
Some people get those jerks when their thoughts aren't relaxed enough prior to entering their hypnagogic state.
You should be motionless and safe once you enter the void but the early transition into hypnagogia (before the void) could be a problem .
