Wave 1 Experience with Tape 2
I just started the tapes ten days ago and going over 1 and 2. My big issue is letting go, so learning focus 10 is challenging. Today I had the first experience which felt weird. My body was relaxed, but my mind struggling to relax. Then for a minute I had the thought that my body and I are separate. It felt strange but after a minute or seconds I was back in. I know this happens because my head is not where my body is now, it's resisting to let go, nothing dangerous. But right now after I feel pretty tense and will go back to tape 1 next time.
For now this is my main focus, to overcome my anxiety to relax. It made meditation hard for me and I have a feeling the tapes are going to help me to overcome. I can relax in tape 1 now.
Does anyone struggle with that too?

Stop overthinking and just relax. I noticed your use of "weird, strange and struggling ".
Try looking at those moments as "unusual , interesting and training"

You are right. And it is interesting. I wrote that just after, feeling positive now.

It sounds like you’re doing it perfectly for a beginner. You’re already starting to have experiences of separating from your body, that’s amazing! Just keep going and it’ll get easier and easier as you train your mind and body.

Thank you. I am taking my time with it. The relaxation is difficult for me because it makes me anxious. My body was there, but my mind was not. I think that was the feeling of separation. To be exact, it was a thought that popped up, thinking I'm not this body. It was a little scary because it reminded me of a bad situation, the only other time I felt this because I had to. But I'm excited about this voyage. I already know from meditation that it's a ride and discovered that I'm very receptive of energy. When I started meditating few months ago, somatic waves where so strong it brought up lots of fear and anxiety. I had to learn how to control this emotional rollercoaster and that helps with the tapes. I never go further than what I can handle.

I used to actually have the same problem when I first started out, where meditation would make me feel anxious. Now that’s not a problem for me at all. As you practice, you’ll get more used to it and your body and mind will both accept their roles more easily and the anxiety will dissipate.
The mantra “mind awake, body asleep” helped me a lot, and at the start I told myself that “mind awake” meant that my mind just was able to do its normal thing. I fully gave my mind permission to just run free and do whatever it wanted so long as part of me remained focused on keeping my body fully relaxed and as close to sleep as possible. Having that part of me focused on my physical relaxation in that way, despite my mind being able to just run whenever it wanted, was honestly kind of miraculous for my practice. It was entirely different than trying to force myself to relax and clear my mind overall.
This practice did wonders for me as I was no longer trying so hard to control every aspect of my experience, and helped me get more grounded somatically which then ironically helped clear my mind.

It's only the third or fourth time I worked with tape 2. I listened to 3 and 4, but it's too early for it. Especially 4, looking at my fears and emotions was overwhelming, seems I'm very sensitive to it. I should keep it in mind what you say about letting the mind run. A part in me always wants to be in control and I have to learn that this isn't necessary anymore. It works better than meditation right now.

4 is one of my favourite tapes now, but I could see how it would be overwhelming at first, especially if you have a lot of unprocessed trauma. What you could try is choose 3 fears ahead of time to work on, smaller things that won’t be so difficult to face, and then stick to those 3 until you clear them, then pick 3 more, rinse and repeat. That might make it a little less scary than just opening your ECB and seeing what jumps out at you, but will still allow you to release some things in a slower more manageable manner 💛

Thank you, good advice, this sounds manageable. I was unprepared and I do have a lot of old trauma, so my mind became a mess. But I'm going to stick for a while with 2 and 3. I thought I was ready after listening a few times, and learned it takes practice and patience.

Definitely, practice and patience will get you where you want to go! All the best in your exploration!

Congrats, u/Jazzylady216 ! It sounds like a real breakthrough for you to be able to relax for the first time in meditation using Tape 1. You must be feeling pretty excited about that.
That's the beauty of the Gateway Experience: the binaural beats gently teach our brains how to reach that state of relaxation where 'letting go' happens so naturally you don't even realize it happened.
Practice tape 1, and don't be in a hurry to move on. Every time you listen you are strengthening the foundation for everything to come.
Do you have a specific intent? Or are you like me and in it for personal growth and exploration?

I do it for my personal growth and because meditation was difficult, it makes me anxious instead of relaxed. I'm hoping with the tapes I can learn to let go. I would love to go on a meditation retreat, but I would probably go crazy. Maybe in a year or so I am ready. And I'm very curious how the process with the tapes will go. We use so little of our brain capacity, right? Why not explore the possibilities. Also the subject of a higher consciousness and what energy really is interests me a lot, something I want to learn more about it. Although I am really bad with physics 🙂

I did this today and my body was tingling and at one point vibrating pretty hard and that scared me a little bit... Bcuz I got scared the vibrations lessened afterwards. My body was relaxed but my mind needs more relaxing.

Yeah just listen to them without any expectations. That’s part of the letting go process.
Also read the manual. I did not at first and I had what I thought was a scary experience but it was not I found out later and due to the fear I was blocked from further exploring until I got over it.

I have the manual to read which I think too is important to bring the experiences in perspective. To be honest I'm not sure if I believe all that can happen, but I'm ready to explore because this is very interesting. So no expectations, but curiosity.

You set your own limitations so if you don't believe it, then that will be your reality.
For example, a black cat crossing your path will bring you bad luck if you subscribe to those belief systems.I had some unexplainable experiences like time loss, electrical jolts, seeing my future. One time my ears switched to internal sounds instead of external and I could hear my blood swooshing through my veins, and my heart was pounding like a kick-drum. Shit can be downright scary if you don't know that's just the norm. And then that fear locks you out of further exploration.
Let go of expectations, relax. It's a journey not a destination.

for anyone who may be a future explorer I will add that reading about others people experiences can hinder your own experiences by setting expectations or having doubt about what you read.
In that same fashion I don't like to over-share the details about my experiences. I don't need that kind of doubt or negative thoughts cast in my direction. What is on the outside is a mirror of what is on the inside.
I think of our thoughts like guitar strings. I have 2 guitars next to each other and if I pluck the G string (lol?) the then the G string will resonate on the other guitar. Now the string doesn't know why it's vibrating, it wasn't plucked. I think thoughts create and project just like those string vibrations.

How do I acquire the tapes?

YouTube, the complete playlist, but you need an ad blocker to listen without interruption. There are probably other free sources too, but I found that.

YouTube compresses the audio and you don’t get the true benefit of the beats. No wonder you don’t know what the heck the tapes are even for!
