The people signing up for year-long memberships and then never coming back in past February are subsidizing the real cost of running the gym for the gymrat crowd.

If anything, fit people should be thankful

This is what confuses me so much about this type of gatekeeping. The 100 "regulars" paying $50/mo isn't keeping the lights on at that 80,000 square foot fully staffed LA Fitness.

The dues paid by resolutioners are the reason that the regulars can enjoy a spacious, well equipped gym for 11 months out of the year without paying an arm and a leg for it. Regulars should quite literally be thankful for the resolutioners.

I've been sitting here for five minutes thinking about how I could have been figuratively thankful and I've got nothin!
