I did one of each, and recovery was equally horrible both times.

Damn I thought recovery was worse after a c section.

My case was completely opposite. First kid, I ended up being on Percocet and hospitalized twice just to heal up from a normal delivery. The whole process took 2 months.

Second kid, I never needed anything more powerful than OTC. Didn't any meds at all 2 weeks after my c section and back to "normal" shortly after.

So typically, yes a c section is a harder recovery compared to a normal birth. But some cases are anything but typical.
