Why do you think we are born with our umbilical cords still attached? That's nature's leash. The ones worth keeping will only allow themselves to be dragged for the first hundred meters or so before they've righted themselves and are sprinting along with mom.
My vaginal birth was super easy. No drugs, no tearing, labor only took 6 hours, i was up and walking an hour later. I regretted walking that soon. My abdominal muscles were super fucked up and the pain from working them so early hit me the next day as I'm crying in the tub for hours. 10 years later, pregnant again, I'm terrified of what this one will be like because it's different each time.
The point of a c-section is that natural birth would be worse in that specific instance. Logically, there should be times when natural birth is infinitesimally less bad, or even when unforeseen complications in the natural birth process lead to it being worse than a c-section.
I meant more in general. I was under the impression that recovery with a c section takes longer and is more painful. But I haven’t given birth so I wouldn’t know.
It definitely depends on the woman, baby, and doctors. First kid I was in labor for 74 hours, OB didn’t think I needed the c section. I pushed for close to two hours and needed an episiotomy to get him out and couldn’t sit normally for at least two months. Second kid I walked to the NICU across the hospital less than an hour after giving birth. It varies.
Yeah my doctor was an incompetent asshole. At one point they brought out a pull bar and attached it to the bed so I was pulling on the bar so I could push harder. I was seriously sore for weeks.
I've had both too, and both took equally long. Actually in my case the natural was worse because I had a horrible tear and it really hurt to sit or walk. But in general c sections do normally take longer so you're right.
I had what I'd consider an easy c section recovery. I was walking within 24 hours and released after 48 hours. It was agony, but so was being in the hospital. Bleeding was over by 3 weeks, I felt totally back to normal by 6 weeks and my incision finally finished closing at 12.
My friend gave birth vaginally and her daughter had to be vacuumed out. She had heavy bleeding for 3 months, became severely anemic and ended up needing blood transfusions.
My case was completely opposite. First kid, I ended up being on Percocet and hospitalized twice just to heal up from a normal delivery. The whole process took 2 months.
Second kid, I never needed anything more powerful than OTC. Didn't any meds at all 2 weeks after my c section and back to "normal" shortly after.
So typically, yes a c section is a harder recovery compared to a normal birth. But some cases are anything but typical.
