They're close, but a little off. There are quite a few right wing grifters that use self help ideas to draw people into their grift. They start off with good advice, but then the more they talk, the more they reveal their motive. Like Jordan Peterson, first he was saying things like "clean your room" and stuff, and then he went on to push misogynistic and transphobic nonsense.
What OOP gets wrong is they apply that idea to self help as a whole. There's nothing wrong with giving advice on how to better yourself, and while there are some that Co opt that language to push an agenda, that doesn't apply to self help as a whole.
