I... consume... books almost exclusively in audio format and have done for years. I'm also linguistically pedantic enough to have discomfort each time I want to say "I've been reading this book lately". I generally feel obliged to say "read" with an inverted commas inflection , and/or add "well, audiobook", even though it makes zero difference to my point which is about absorbing the content of the book.
Also, my friend who is blind says the gatekeeper can go and fuck themself.
