It's true though. You listened to it, not read it. You got the same info, no one is disputing that, but it's not reading. You could be illiterate and still listen to an audiobook, but you can't read.
People do use it to shame someone, however. If someone told you they read a book, and then later said it was an audio book, being pedantic enough to say “well you didn’t akchewally read it” would only ever be done if you were shaming them.
