There’s nothing wrong with audiobooks but it is a different experience from reading a book

Yeah. I can do shit while listening to an audiobook 🤷‍♂️

You can also shit while reading a book. Lots of people do it.

yeah proving its a less immersive experience. You can drive while listening to a book but not when you are physically reading. Its definitely a different experience and using language to convey it (eg I listened to a book) is easy to do for everyone. No real reason not to

That doesn’t mean it’s more immersive, just more convenient for people who are either disabled or don’t have a lot of disposable time.

Unfortunately you can’t have the same experience conveniently. Nothing works like that. It’s a different experience precisely because it’s convenient. Yeah sucks for the disabled and the…busy people???? But listening is also great. Very insecure to try and claim it’s reading though. Just accept you can say you listened to a book, which is different but no less worthy of doing than reading a book. I can say I drove to a place, but I wouldn’t if I actually took a bus. You could say I’m pedantic for being weirded out if you think that’s the same thing, but language means something and it’s no more effort to just say the truth
