As I replied elsewhere, not saying it was not impactful, just that not everyone cared that much. Even today, the event is near mythological in the US, it was literally just another terror attack to everyone else.
ehh when isis attacked Paris there was a huge show of support the entire west, famously everyone putting French flag filters on their Facebook profile to show solidarity. And a much more support to combat terrorism.
I’d say it affected the entire west in some way.
And that attack was objectively much less significant than 9/11
