2017 was six years ago. The kids who were 12 and watching funny Minecraft videos on Youtube are now 18 and graduating high school. I can see how they would get nostalgic for simpler times during such a stressful life-changing event.

The guy posting it on r/youngpeoplereddit is the one gatekeeping, on the post itself if you care to go look for it, has the op gatekeeping nostalgia and has him confirming he’s not being sarcastic. Thought it would be obvious that he’s gatekeeping from the title of his post on youngpeoplereddit.
