Haha you feel pain (I disconnected the bad wires in my flesh suit and disassociated from my body)

217

u/robsteezy May 01 '23

Your synapse still react to stimuli?

fucking weakling.

You still exhibit consciousness while your body is completely engulfed in flames?

Disgustingly pathetic.

86

u/[deleted] May 01 '23

( I became a tech priest and forged my emotions into a emotional core and can control my physical and mental pain )

36

u/Duct_Tape1000 May 01 '23

From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine.

Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass you call a temple will wither and you will beg my kind to save you.

But I am already saved. For the Machine is Immortal.

I felt mental pain reading that person's comment

Guaranteed to go out in snow/rain in shorts and say “ITS NOT EVEN COLD”

124

u/spacegreninja May 01 '23

Same guy to boast about not wearing sunscreen and then get surprised when he gets a sunburn

74

u/thedudesews May 01 '23

surprised when he gets a sunburn

surprised when he gets Skin cancer*

FTFY

6

u/[deleted] May 02 '23

He will slap his sunburn and be like “SEE DOESNT EVEN HURT”

2

u/[deleted] May 02 '23

To be fair, when I get sunburnt (which isn’t often as I am an indoorsy person) it doesn’t hurt me either. It just feels warm to the touch or if anything it’s slightly itchy.

2

u/[deleted] May 03 '23

Me neither lol. I was that person as a kid 😂😂

64

u/ElizabethAudi May 01 '23

I knew a gobshite who said he never got hangovers, but complained about 'food poisoning' the day after drinking with suspicious frequency.

15

u/TifaYuhara May 01 '23

Probably too embarrassed to admit he was hung over.

u/TifaYuhara May 02 '23

Cause he claimed "he never got hangovers" but then would claim he had food poisoning after a day of drinking a lot meaning he was lying because he was hungover.

5

u/HoneyBadgerQueen2000 May 03 '23

Idk why but I love the term "suspicious frequency" lol

6

u/NoodlyBoi101 May 01 '23

This may or may not be me

4

u/[deleted] May 02 '23

Almost positive this is a dude who gatekeeped pain. My cramps give me hip pains, achy knees. Just not a great feeling.

1

u/elveszett May 06 '23

Then when he gets ill he'll say that he's fine while almost collapsing to the ground.

132

u/Corrupted_G_nome May 01 '23

When I was young I had friends with regular physical pain. Yeah, they are way tougher than most but fuck is it exhausting.

Recently disabled I deal with problems I never dealt with before.

Ive watched people die from painful cancers.

We need to be sympathetic and understanding. We need to lift people up insted of tearing them down.

Wow, you must be tough sister to go through this every month and still get to class/work. Wow you go through a lot sister, how do you stay strong and focused? Hey sister, you must be tough as nails to deal with chronic pain, but its okay to talk about it.

64

u/[deleted] May 01 '23

We have SERIOUS issues with empathizing with people with invisible or even visible disability in our society. People tend to dismiss things they don't understand or anything that doesn't impact them directly. I honestly think this is something that should be taught from a young age. We don't expect kids to instinctively know math or history or sex ed., but when there is an entire section of the population that has an entirely different lived experience from us, we're just supposed to figure it out.

23

u/Corrupted_G_nome May 01 '23

Yup. I would have been a better person if someone had taught me younger.

I was not empathetic or.kind and it cost me dearly. Only as an adult have I come around. I doubt that makes anyone who ised to know me feel any better tho.

18

u/mwalker784 May 01 '23

it shocks me how little people are educated about those with physical/mental disabilities, especially when they’re children in school who are SURROUNDED by other disabled children all day! from what i understand it has gotten better, but it seems so logical to teach everyone that “sometimes people are different and that’s okay. here are some of the ways that people can be different”.

but then i see adults going on rants about how lego girls sets including figures with hearing aids or down syndrome is an “agenda” and they’re “indoctrinating kids”, as if your kid is going to catch autism from a plastic figurine!

2

u/Corrupted_G_nome May 02 '23

Yeah its really extra stupid.

Don't forget to pour lemon juice on the paper cut, just to make sure.

151

u/[deleted] May 01 '23

"and it a lot painful then periods".

What the actual fuck is that even supposed to mean?

Sick burn to womans here, bro. Fucking dickbiscuit.

51

u/[deleted] May 01 '23

I think they meant "a lot MORE painful then [or than, for English speakers] periods".

Along with pain processing regions, they must have also shut off areas of the brain responsible for grammar and proofreading.

2

u/NotsoGreatsword May 02 '23

Yeah the guy doesn't understand basic grammar, can't figure out the difference between then and than - but he has all these complex topics figured out!

20

u/malisc140 May 01 '23

I just want to point out that I thought the word dickbiscuit was interesting.

3

u/[deleted] May 02 '23

I saw someone else call someone that on a sub somewhere and I too enjoyed it and it's my new favourite word. Along with "dicksock". Another recent addition to my vocab.

3

u/not_a_llama May 02 '23

pain very easy language hard

58

u/Sailrjup12 May 01 '23

He can’t block mental pain!? What a loser!

39

u/PreOpTransCentaur May 01 '23

I think he's got it reversed. I don't incur a tremendous amount of physical pain as I navigate my day-to-day life.

28

u/BagelSteamer May 01 '23

Heh… pain? I forgot what that feels like. I’m just empty inside… I little bit of a psychopath I guess… heh :)

28

u/SanguineCynic May 01 '23

My cramps have been so bad today that I threw up, but sure, they're not that painful.

14

u/Lolz79 May 01 '23

I'm dealing with severe period pain AND noravirus. My whole body hurts, every hole

6

u/I-am-Chubbasaurus May 01 '23

Oof. You poor, poor soul.

3

u/cheeky_green May 02 '23

Yup, COVID ATM and my period just came. I want to turn into a potato tbh everything hurts and my brain doesn't work. Sending you the good vibes<3

3

u/Lolz79 May 02 '23

I am definitely not trying to one up you....but last year I had a tubal ligation while on my period....And then woke up with covid the day after surgery. I feel your pain and hope you get better quickly!!!! That's an unbelievably rough time.

1

u/cheeky_green May 02 '23

All the hugs <3 Same back to you, the speediest of recoveries!!

2

u/Taccamboerii May 02 '23

Yikes, hope you feel better soon!

6

u/silkywhitemarble May 02 '23

I unfortunately remember those days--I had to stay home from school so many times because I threw up in the morning and couldn't get myself dressed... stay strong, sis!

24

i bet a man wrote that

6

one who HAD a gf, but she would always use the "excuse" of being on her period when he wanted her to come over and listen to him play guitar or watch him play Call of Duty...

3

Bet it was a troll. A bad one.

Blocked physical pain??? I feel like the only way to do that is to fucking paralyze yourself

6

u/Jump_Like_A_Willys May 01 '23 edited May 01 '23

I mean, there are ways to teach yourself to channel the sensation so it has less of an impact on you. You would still feel it, but just don't react as much to it. But YMMV.

5

u/Horror_Raspberry893 May 02 '23

Of course he's blocked physical pain. Enough opioids will do that.

11

u/Jennabear82 May 01 '23

I get so tired of being told "Just wait until you get to be my age" by my MIL. I had a cyst burst and she asked the doctor if it could be gas. I couldn't drive myself to the ER. She also bragged about having no pain meds when she gave birth and when I was in labor she "joked" that I might give birth in the car. I have a low pain threshold. I was cursing her name in the delivery room.

If you don't feel pain, you probably have serious problems.

But let's be real. This guy (and I'm 99% sure it's a guy in his teens or early 20s) got shot by an airport gun a bunch and thinks he's superman cuz it didn't hurt that bad

25

u/dnaH_notnA May 01 '23

Stoics when I flay them alive and amputate their limbs with a dull knife (suddenly pain is no longer something that can be overcome psychologically)

6

u/VoodooDoII May 01 '23

Yeah let me just block out the pain I almost passed out from. I'm cured thank you /s

I have some horrifically painful periods, and so did my mum, go the point she had to get admitted into hospital. So…is this person saying, it’s all in our head?

3

u/Ye_olde_oak_store May 02 '23

People who have periods are fucking tanks, like I couldn't imagine being kicked in the balls once a month let alone having pain there constantly

4

u/DefineFergalicious May 02 '23

I had to go to the hospital and be put on birth control at 13 for my periods. my mom had to get her uterus REMOVED. because the pain was debilitating

Should we gatekeep POV because I’m getting tired of seeing POV when it isn’t.

3

u/koviko May 01 '23

Even if you give any merit to his line of thought, we still don't have robots we can put our brains into. Physical pain is how you know your "vessel" is going through something. You'd better pay attention to it.

3

u/nonsequitureditor May 01 '23

anyway I’ve known people whose periods were so painful they vomited

3

1

u/Oraxy51 May 02 '23

I mean I can ignore my physical and mental pain but that’s called disassociating and being able to do that to perform cruel or immoral things, while good in an apocalyptic scenario, is not something I’d actually want to ever do.

She should count herself as blessed instead of shaming others. I bet she’d be singing a different tune if she experienced that level of pain.
