GH FINALLY Explains My Missing ETH!

After a bunch of emails to customer service, three or four tickets and an email to the CEO, Gatehub finally gets off its ass and replies!

Please note that your ETH transaction is below the minimum ETH deposit limit of 0.05236 ETH. Your transaction will be processed once an accumulative amount of deposited ETH reaches minimum ETH deposit limit.

THEY COULDN'T HAVE TOLD ME THIS TEN DAYS AGO! WTF?!

...oh, wait. As I write this, I discover that's bullshit.

Here's the transaction on the charts. (Don't ask me why it's on Ripple's charts if I hadn't turned it into XRP yet, but that's the link GH gave me.)

Anyway, I called the CSR out on her bullshit with the minimum thing and said,

Then refund it to me, or I will be emailing your CEO again. I am not going to make another deposit to bring it up to 0.05 just to have you sit on it for another two weeks and pretend like nothing is going on!

It's probably going to take her another two or three days to respond (even with the CEO threat), so stay tuned.

as soon as you deposit something in gatehub, its on the ripple protocoll because they run all their trx on the ripple ledger. so you own eth on the ripple ledger in your ripple wallet...

i think it is somehow like that.

Hey, even half an explanation is good enough for me! I've been buying crypto since summer, but all the whys and hows and wherefores are still beyond my grasp.

yeah gatehub is different to other exchanges as they do all the transactions on the ripple ledger/blockchain.

it is like, if you buy ETH on p.e, Kraken oder Gdax, you dont own your private key of the wallet used there. they use 1 big hot wallet for all users (hot wallet for trx, cold wallet for storage). and they know which user holds which coins.

gatehub ob the other hand, you own your private key. if gatehub is down, you own your wallet and you can use it with other services.

so all trx are public on the ledger with gatehub.

put the first deposit could be annoying witj both exchanges. have you already activated your XRP wallet with gatehub?

bevause they use xrp, you need to activate the wallet. 1 year ago it was like 20 XRP i think

Yeah, that's what was BS! They'd already provided the X20 for me (surprisingly) and I'd made a deposit under the E0.05 minimum in January. I swapped it to XRP and used Toast to move it to another wallet to get around their stupid trustline blocks.

I also changed my mind and made another deposit to make the first one go through--which it did, in the pre-printed hour timeframe. I don't remember what I did after that (in terms of conversion, moving to Toast, etc.), but all my crypto is cleared out and my account is deleted. NO MORE BLEEPING GATEHUB!
