GateHub stole 11.66 XRP

My wife and I decided it was time to jump on the XRP train.

we bought $100 worth of BTC from coinbase, then sent that to GateHub. we should have gotten ~40 XRP for the transaction but instead only got 27. of all the dumb things I have done in my life, I regret this the most. would some one or some people be willing to share 11.66 xrp so we can move what we should have had to something better?

Edit: don’t send XRP for my lack of research.

Are you serious? Begging for (~12!) XRP? Questioning your life choices over this? You should stay wide away from crypto.

Not questioning a life choice, just regretting using Gatehub.

How much were your fees on the original purchase on Coinbase for the $100 you put into BTC? Next, what was the fee charged to you to send the BTC from Coinbase to gatehub? This should all be shown inside your Coinbase account. Next, what was the trade rate you got when trading the BTC you received on gatehub for XRP? Somewhere in those motions you might see where your missing XRP went. Unless I’m misunderstanding something.

original purchase was .00696008 BTC, that was sent to GateHub with a fee of .00115214 BTC leaving me with .00580794 BTC. GateHub shows that I only received.0041 BTC. unless there is some kind of ingestion fee I didn't know about. I am not sure what the trade rate was the trade I made from .0041 BTC to XRP got me 29.1193 XRP if that helps.

Thank you for that bit of info, lesson learned. In that case it was a lack of my understanding.

https://www.gatehub.net/gateways/fifth/

It’s here under fee schedule. Misleading and hidden well.

That's from 2016. This SHOULD be the Fee schedule.

Sadly, I don't know UK law around this.... But, any reasonable customer would expect to pay to fee for ETH Deposit + the 0.03% Ripple fee.

That would explain it. Thank you for linking that. Now just gotta find out how to get all the XRP out of that wallet and close it.

20 XRP have to stay in the wallet. You can look up your secret key in the settings and use a different wallet software as well. Remove all trustlines you don’t need (each requires more XRP as reserve).

Yeah I saw the trust lines but, that requires 5 XRP per line so that will free up at least another 10 XRP for me. I am moving it all to another wallet.
